If the Mavs traded for Dragic and still had about $27 million in space, they could possibly split it on 2 players like Reggie Jackson and Oubre.
Luka / Dragic / Terry
Jackson / Burke
DFS / Oubre / Green
Maxi / Bey
KP / WCS / Brown

You can try to work out a deal with the other team. Either generate a giant TPE or look to acquire talent back. I think the Mavs will definitely try to operate over the cap to keep their own MLE and that $10.8M TPE. Only way I see them going under the cap, if they have a premium top target and want to avoid any f*ckery.

FWIW, I see CP3 is declining his $44MM+ option with PHX. Don't think it changes much around here though.

Not with the new MBT. The old one would probably chase Kawhi, CP3 and Lowry in the same pathetic way they sat their like a wimp waiting for the mighty Danny Green.
Lowry would string them along as a fallback option until the Raptors and Heat have sorted our their S&T.

Man I really like the idea of getting Sato, Young and White from Chi. That alone would be a pretty amazing offseason.

Won't they be hard-capped and only have the taxpayer MLE of $5.9M?
I read that when they do a S&T with the Raps, they would be hard-capped.
Sounds a bit "smokescreen" to me.

Or they just can't agree on the price yet.

Because we have this kind of weird live posting plugin...just refresh the page.

If I'm in the mavs front office I'd accept that Lowry is going to the heat. I'd also let THJ walk since he wants a salary in the range or higher than his last contract. He is not consistent enough to be number 2 option. The move is to sign DeRozan to a 3 or 4 year deal who I believe to be the best FA actually available. if we can afford it maybe grabbing Dragic from the heat too. I believe J-KIDD could lead this team to a first round victory this season

So that's true.
But also, tweets stopped working for me on Mobile-Dark. Is that the case for others as well?
Mobile-Dark is what I typcially use on my phone, but now tweets don't work and (the long time bug) I can't see any posts past a deleted post for that page of posts. So I have to use that Mobile MyBB 1.8, which I hate.
Not complaigning though because I certainly don't have the skills to help with this stuff. Bow staff skills and nunchuck skills aren't much use on the internet.

I am team Derozan. It is too bad he is just not an average to a tad below average on defense. If that is the case, I would love Derozan plus Monk. That would be a fun team to watch.
I am not sure Dragic works with Derozan.
My question if we did have an interest in Dragic would it be as a starter or off the bench? To be honest, I am not sure I like either at this stage in his career.

Either, or, right? Problem is that Derozon would help in the regular season, but would be a problem in the playoffs with the ball mostly in Luka's hands.

Derozan> Lowry at this point. He was a beast when Dallas played SA last year. Monk is very promising but: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q_4bp8bBNVw

Still trying to understand why they would operate over the cap? Over the cap you have THJ + TPE + MLE. That is roughly 33 mil in value requiring you to hold onto THJ and limiting you on the other two.
If we go under the cap we currently have 30 in cap plus the room. We are not stuck with THJ and have a lot more room to maneuver with the spending. Plus it will be very easy to create more cap space by dumping one or more of the many centers we currently have. You could probably dump WCS for air if necessary and a Powell for Dragic trade does not work over the cap, but means you got Dragic for 8 mil and still have 22 left.
I feel like it will take a lot more work for over the cap to make sense. Maybe if you can send THJ out in an S&T, but those are difficult to do.
