Nico seems like a great hire.  Cuban saying nothing has changed with the structure and Kidd looking overwhelmed don't give me a lot of confidence.  Of all the billionaires, why'd we get stuck with the one who pinches pennies.  Balmer needs to figure out a way to trade the Clippers for the Mavs.

I used to work in media.. It's crazy easy to get a media pass. I worked with a guy that went to all sorts of sporting events in Dallas as "media" covering the games. We were 2 hours away and not a sport station covering the games lol. 

I think he used it as a networking thing. He's working for SI now and doing some radio somewhere too. So guess it worked ha.

Ok so KP is definitely not going to be traded. I'm not disappointed with that. I heard on the Locked on Mavs podcast that there's a chance that JKidd will be trying to recreate the 2011 Mavs team, with KP going full time at the 4 playing that Dirk role. 

After hearing the Nerlens Noel rumor, it kind of makes sense now if that's what they're trying to do.

After hearing the Nerlens Noel rumor, it kind of makes sense now if that's what they're trying to do.

The game has changed a lot since 2011.  KP at the 4 is not worth near that contract.  I think I would rather see Noel guard the perimeter than KP.  Maybe that is the plan, an improved version of KP/Powell.  Noel made Randle look like a good defensive player, so maybe it could work.  So you start KP/Noel and Maxi/Powell is backup.

Thibs made everybody in NYC look like a good defensive player, including Noel himself.

I like Noel next to Porzingis, because he is a free-roaming disruptive fast (help) defender, which is actually what we need. It is something that Carlisle could never accept and was never willing to accomodate in his idea of strict positional defense. But that is Noel´s biggest strength. Plus he should be very affordable.

I think Noel would be the PF in those line-ups. KP would be the rim protector. Noel will be asked to cover the nominal (stretch) four and provide the help defense to Porzingis. It´s bascially the cheaper version of what I envisioned Jarrett Allen/Porzingis could have been.
