HELL NO. We need (SUPER)STARS, not guys about whom you´d say: if he ever makes an All-Star/All-NBA team, it´s a miracle. I´m not hating on Robinson, but it has been proven over and over again in the last decade. You get/need three All-Stars and then you add the roleplayers. Of course that would also require asset management. TRY. Fail. Acquire more assets. TRY. Fail. Acquire more assets. SUCCEED. What the Mavs do is: TRY. Fail. TRY. Fail. TRY. Fail. Lower your goals.

I actually prefer Theis because I think that Holmes will get at least 15m. In that case Theis for 5-10m and more money to upgrade the wing/guard positions is the better option. Yeah I agree. I think Holmes will be highly sought for, and as such will make between 15-20m. Mavs already have 2 players that fit your description perfectly. Powell and Melli. And you are telling me you would like another player like that? Keep in mind one of the bigger Celtics problems this season is the same that Mavs have. Small frontcourt with Theis, Thompson and Williams. Are you telling me you would be happy if Mavs starting frontcourt next season is KP and Theis? How is that better than Powell or WCS? I mean maybe marginally, but does it gets us over Denver? Never mind LAC or Jazz? Get out of here people, I would rather have Bobby Portis. Mavs need old school center. Period.

Warriors I think would definitely do KP for Minney + Wiggins. Pacers might like that Minney pick. How about Pacers send Brogdon, Warren in that 3 way and Mavs also still have plenty of cap space to sign Holmes + another piece or two.
Main rotation pieces would be: Luka Brogdon/Brunson DFS/Warren Maxi/FA Holmes/Powell/rMLE

Is 15 possible? Yes sure. Not 20. He has been around for many years and not done anything. This year his numbers are good but not 20 mil good. I would put his number around the Wood number so 12-15/yr.

The more I think about this KP crap, the more I think we will end up settling for a deal similar to this
Dallas Receives Al Horford Darius Bazley Two 2021 1st Round Picks OKC Receives KP How would you guys feel about this trade?

I agree I much more prefer a salary dump, if we could just dump him to OKC I would love that. I would be cool with a small return and draft capital to move for other pieces. Removing 31 million from the cap may be the best thing KP can bring us. We can make some things happen with that extra cap room. You could essentially just dump KP to OKC and maybe not even take Horford back as they are rebuilding. Take draft compensation and a few players and start acquiring assets Take KP's 31 Million and sign Lonzo Ball, maybe try and trade for some other pieces and upgrade with the leftover cap room.

I am still interested in JC for KP swap, then sign RH.
I think a Collins and Holmes frontcourt with Luka would be deadly.

A playoff team is not going to take a chance on KP, if his knee injury is serious which it could be since its likely a no contact injury then KP is damaged goods. I think as Mavs fans the sooner we come to that realization the better. The best we can hope for is a salary dump and maybe some draft compensation.

He's a unicorn (in a bad way), meaning he's a unique player requiring a unique fit. We, Mavs fans, are learning how pointless it is to try to create that fit. More trouble than it's worth. I suspect that 2-3 teams will still want him, but only that many. For the teams who aren't interested, there won't be a "bargain" price that will create interest for them. They simply won't want a fish out of water who might be the highest paid player on the team. Mavs need to identify those 2-3 teams, take what they can get, and MOVE ON. I would've done it at the trade deadline.
