He needs to either get down and dirty like DP-WCS-Maxi or maybe be moved. The hard screens and attacking the rim are must haves. 5 guys standing around the 3 point line is losing basketball (even if they all shoot 40%)

The Mavs have to know that Luka in the pick and roll is like Beethoven on the piano. I think they (like me) thought KP could BE that pick and roll guy...time to repent and fix things this summer.

The original vision had him as an athletic rim roller with potential defensive range to compliment KP's more varied offensive skills and in the paint defense. This is a good time to find out if that will work. If so, maybe the Mavs have their power forward upgrade and can just focus on snagging an all-star caliber shooting guard this off-season who can also defend point guards to round out the roster. And some don't: (04-24-2021, 12:38 PM)Mavs2021 Wrote: Dwight Powell

He wasn’t helping the team when he started earlier in the season. We don’t have to go through this again.
Fortunately he’s steadily getting better over the last months. To me the longterm outlook has changed significantly, I am not ruling out anymore that we might see the old, reliable Dwight again on a game by game basis. Tonight‘s game was on par with some of his best performances ever. Exciting stuff considering that he’s still not that far away from the injury. Makes you very hopeful for the upcoming seasons.

I think that...possibly.... Dwight Powell might be getting healthy again...just a hunch...so don't quote me.

DP's performance has proved one thing at least.
Luka with a PNR big is better than a PNP big. All the more reason to throw a lot of money at Richaun Holmes.
