Plus all the random picks they have in the future.
Imagine if they were based in a city like Seattle???
OKC is incredibly intriguing. SGA is a guy you can absolutely build a contender around. Dort developing into a premier defender would have been a win on its own but his offensive development gives them another core piece. The Moses Brown development this year may be one of the most overlooked in the NBA.
Then you look at some guys that are getting big minutes now and the value they have when they are eventually pushed down the rotation; guys like Roby, Jerome, Williams, Bazley and Mykhailiuk. Then of course their two rookie Euros in Maledon and Poku.
And the ultimate wildcard is the huge expiring Horford will be in 2022-23 coupled with all those picks.
Will be interesting to see who they retain from their current roster over the next couple of years, what they do with all those picks and the Horford contract in the next couple of years, and how they utilize their cap space either with a FA or by adding value as a facilitating team to a bigger deal.
They could make a compelling offer for Beal or Lavine to form a dynamite backcourt with SGA and still have plenty of ammo left to fill out their front court and add an ace bench scorer. Will be fun to watch how the next few years play out to the north.

So Portland has 18 games left. Let's assume they keep the "normal" 60 % win pace, which would put them at 42-30 score at the end of season. This means Mavs can't realistically lose more than 5 games in the remaining 19 games. Countdown begins
If Mavs finish the season 14-5, Lakers would have to lose 8 of their remaining 17 games. I don't think that is going to happen.

Plus they signed Gabriel Deck, who's suppose to be another intriguing player.

Deck is 26 and was never something special in Europe. I doubt he will suddenly break out. That signing is more about spending 3,9 mil OKC was below the salary plateau.
From Hollinger:
Enter Deck, who not coincidentally signed for $3.9 million. Is he an NBA player? Probably not. He had failed to make an impression as a younger player, going scoreless in the 2013 Hoop Summit and going undrafted in 2017. Now 26 years old and playing in Spain as a 6-foot-6 power forward with limited athleticism, nobody I talked to is that excited about him as an NBA prospect. His best-case scenario would be to get by enough on smarts and craftiness to carve out a back-end rotation spot. Deck’s main utility was that he was available via an in-season buyout, a rarity with European contracts. (The Thunder also could have targeted an American call-up player, by the way, but those ranks had already been picked clean, and they’d already used some of the money to convert two-way Moses Brown to a roster player.)

Can the Mavs please avoid the play-in. Just takes one supernova game from Curry to end the season.
Curry in his last three games
38pts 8-15 from 3
53pts 10-18 from 3
today he scored 42pts in 29 minutes. 11-16 from 3. Warriors scored 125pts in three quarters

They still have Memphis before Curry, if the current standing stand. If they can't win one of those two games, they don't deserve playoffs.

KP was rested last season on back to backs STILL as recovery from that injury. That was the specific language used. So even AS he was back playing his recovery still wasn't done according to the Mavs and their doctors.
And again, I simply rounded up in a quick comment to highlight that the ACL injury is NOT just a season ending injury but one that could cost Murray MOST if not all of NEXT season as well.
Dude, you are sooooooooooooooo literal.
On the bright side, I think I figured out why I can’t quote.

Dude is absolutely killing it. 8+ made threes in three straight games. Post all star game, he's averaging 33.5 on incredible efficiency.
I cant believe AC Green made an all star game

LaMarcus Aldridge abruptly announces retirement due to arrhythmia issues. I always liked his game and am sorry to hear this.

I know first hand how scary this can be, as I have a history of occasional runs of PVCs, atrial fibrillation and PSVT. But I find that the better my conditioning is, the fewer issues I have with them.

Oh my goodness.
I hope his health is okay and wish him nothing but the best. Now it makes sense why the Spurs worked on a buyout for him. Probably knew this was his last season no matter what.
