Josh Richardson pouring in around 15 ppg with defense and that level of shooting? That's a really nice get.
It's a huge if that his shooting picks back up on the shortened offseason. But essentially the #s suggest it's more of an issue with Philly's team than the player.

It's a good read.
That said, I'll believe he can turn around his offense when I see it. Playing with Luka will certainly help.

I'm happiest for you, my guy. I got it from Omahen for sure and thought like him we'd have to give up the pick, not the other way around. But thanks! Once I heard it from him, I certainly drove the train for a while. I really like that trade a lot! It says to me as a fan that they really do value defense!
At this point I don't NEED OPJ, but I still think he'd be a good fit here. As a member of the OPJ fan club, I could not agree more. Richardson fits the role just fine. If a bargain type trade for OPJ comes up, great! Richardson can play the 2 and OPJ can play the three but I am just as content without him now that we’ve got Richardson.

Here are some 2021 cap space estimates assuming Dallas signs all 3 draft picks and the cap goes up by the minimum 3%. Plenty of room to maneuver, especially if keeping a max slot open (32.7 mil) is not required.
1) Richardson opts-in: 17.9
a) Trade Wright: 25.5
b) Waive Powell: 23.6
c) Both a and b: 31.2
2) Richardson opts-out: 28.6
a) Trade Wright: 36.2
b) Waive Powell: 34.3
c) Both a and b: 41.9

Luka, Brunson
Richardson, Terry, vet min (Tre Burke)
Hayward, DFS, Green
MLE, Kleber, Bey
KP, Powell, Bobi
For me I use that MLE on a big, my ideal choices are
Serge Ibaka
Chriistian Wood
Paul Milsap
Bobby Portis
I am leaning towards Wood

We've talked a lot of about Hield, Dipo, Hayward, Bogdan but you know we haven't spent a lot of time on Fred Vanvleet. Raptors just drafted Malachai Flynn that is a similar player. Most likely FVV is still going back to Toronto but that would a pretty sweet get for the Mavs. He's only 26. 39% from three. Definitely secondary offense creator. Solid defender.

Ibaka looks washed up and I think he'll up with his buddies on the Nets. Portis is intriguing and scares the bejesus out of me at the same time. Our team chemistry is too good to introduce him, I think. I'm not sure you can convince Milssap to come here without offering multiple years. Wood is super interesting but more of a project and it looks like we will already be developing three guys. Not even sure what you would pay him either.

The main thing that some others have pointed out is that the FA class is looking a lot weaker now. I'd say you don't have to have max cap space for any free agent next year if Giannis does indeed sign the Supermax.
Are we really passing up deals that would improve us now for Dipo, the hope of LAC guys bailing, Griffin, Oubre, Gobert? Half those guys you might be able to find a way to trade for now. Your best restricted guy that's gettable the next 2 years is probably Bogdan.

Ask yourself if you are content with a core of Luka, KP and Bogdan. Feels like an obvious yes, even if you have to overpay. Now show me a deal that convinces the Kings to work us.

I'd love FVV but hard to see Raptors not wanting him either tho. But maybe its a #s crunch on their future salaries.
The issue tho is you'd have to do a SNT and I'm not sure I'm wanting to give up much for him in a SNT. I'd assume something like Brunson is going back and while I like FVV more than Brunson I'd rather see what Brunson has still than trading him and giving FVV a big fat contract.

Looks like another very solid 2-way guy. High character, excellent defender.

Did you see Wood's final stats last year?

We will not be able to count on Powell and KP most nights as they will likely have a lot of load management. This dude is talented and was playing in the same system we run. We need a guy that can play big minutes and execute in our offense as a 4/5.
No brainer decision IMO to go after him

The second NY passed on Haliburton tonight I figured they were planning to back up a truck full of gold bars right into FVV’s driveway.

I've already pointed out you can essentially the same deal as the bucks did but Brunson instead of Donte but they got to take 1 more year of Wright. Wright is better than Illyasova to me so if they aren't worried about the 9 mill on the 2nd year, they may even view Wright as an upgrade on Illyasova.
Essentially if the Kings have decided they don't want Bogdan... They have little negotiating power.
The mavs for one could find a taker for THJ's expiring deal and just sign him outright.
Basically the play is get whatever nice young player in return for the deal. Anything else of more value and the team will just call their bluff and sign him to an offer sheet.
RFA is a high stakes poker game. And Kings have already shown everyone their cards.

THJ is a efficient gunner, he is much needed with Luka imo. Even more with Curry being gone i think. Not sure you can afford to lose him, i think he is a little underrated in that role. I dont think many guys can replace that shooting on such a volume.
40 % from 3 on pretty high volume. And he kinda had an awful start to the season. THJ made the 7th most 3's in the entire league. Seth is at spot 40th in comparison.
Seth 145 3 pointers
THJ 204 3 pointers

Of course Bogdan isn't going to come cheap from a $$$ standpoint. Mavs may have 0 interest in paying him around 20 mill. Again just speculation based on the contracts and salary cap matching, that's the max contract # the Bucks will be able to give.
I'd put it somewhere around 15 mill tho with the rough math going on in my head as to what they are wanting to offer so they can also use the MLE to fill out the roster.
They'd have 5 guys under contract with Jrue and Bogdan on the team plus Giannis' brother lol.
So it's a lot of work to finish rounding out the team.
I'm suspecting Bogdan costs about 20 mill per year.

Yes! It’s not all about making them. First, you have to be able to get the shots off! Obviously, the percentage needs to work in order for the team to win, but THJ’s off ball work to get open and his (very) quick release are under appreciated.
