So far nothing too upsetting.
The price for Holiday is just stupid. I know the Bucks are desperate, but Holiday has become overrated recently. Two years ago nobody would have argued that he´s even better than Bledsoe. Now he´s suddenly the 2nd coming of prime Gary Payton.
Two first round picks for Covington are also a desperate move for a team looking at a closing window, that was severely lacking at SF/PF. Not for the Mavs either.
Bogdanovic I would have liked here. I told the Mavs to get him, when he was just draft rights on the Suns. Would have cost nothing then.
Mavs just need to be cool. Make your draft picks. No reason to get nervous.

And a quick reminder, people in the league paid the max for Parsons thinking he is healthy. Or big contract to Wes Matthews when he is injured.
Ok, fair enough.
I disagree, but I certainly can't argue with the Chandler Parsons point. Hey, at least OUR team knew better. So, IF they sign Hayward, I hope you'll give him a chance. We don't know that they will or will even try, obviously. But IF.

I always support any player we get, until proven otherwise
Though, sometimes I have an initial knee jerk reaction, but that is why I am sport fan

Yeah, Kemba + 2 or 3 firsts would have been far better offer for Pelicans. I don't get why would Celtics would want such deal

I wonder whether Kemba regrets not signing with us, if the rumours are true.
Ainge: You want to trade for Kemba.
Walker: Here is Kemba.
Ainge: Oops. Dialed the wrong number. I mean you got Punk`d. Haha.

Doesn't seem like there's a lot left on the trading board.
My Mavs possibilities that are desirable ranked:
1) Lavine
2) Moving up in the draft for Hayes
3) Hield
4) Moving up in the draft for Vassell
5) OPJ (forgot him at first!!!)
6) Rubio
7) Simply moving up higher in the teens in the draft to have a better shot at a contributing player
8) Fournier
9) Aaron Gordon
10) Hayward
11) Tucker for not much
12) Dipo for real damn cheap (like 31 and Wright)
13) Danny Green if it costs less than nothing
Remind me what I'm missing out on. The top 8 are dynamically desirable to me; i.e. they'd be good news. I didn't put Beal because we aren't getting Beal. Ditto Gobert and Myles Turner. No Oubre for the same reason as no Kevin Knox nor DSJ.

It would have been the ultimate curse of shunning the Mavs last summer ... Kemba, Danny Green and Patrick Beverly get shipped off to mid market non contenders after 1 year for trade fodder.

Scott, I know this isn't the point of your post, and I'm hijacking a little, but this is something I'm really fascinated by this morning:
I think it's important that we all understand what Windhorst MEANT by "Oladipo has no value...contract related."
1) IND is obviously not going to move him for a package like what's above.
2) No team is paying more than that for a RENTAL.
3) Because of 1 and 2, any trade for a player like Oladipo, in his contractual situation, would basically require an agreement between Oladipo and his new team that a contract extension be in place in order to make the trade. It's the only way both teams can get what they want in the deal.
4) While there are teams who value what COULD BE with Oladipo (maybe including the Mavs), it's the guaranteed money on that potential contract, and not the trade cost, that's preventing a market from forming. That's what all the notes about "teams want to see Oladipo play for a while before trading for him" have meant. It all makes total sense to me now.
So, and this is crucial to understand, IF that market materializes NOW (from the Mavs or any other team), given the events of the past 24 hours, I think it's safe to assume that it's at least a little bit of a panic move.

I will be a Gordon Hayward stan to the end. Anytime he was in the playmaker in Boston they were such much better than with Kemba. Their best lineups were Hayward-Brown-Tatum and Hayward-Smart-Tatum, with Hayward distributing the ball. He's just a better all around player than Dipo. And while he has been injury plagued in Boston, he's had freak things like broken hand and a high ankle sprain that are seperate from his serious injury. With Dipo it's all about his serious injury.

I would like to have him, but I am affraid price will be too high. Just the contracts needed to match his salary will be a lot, and Boston will not be taking our crap.

Yeah, I'm not saying he's the second coming, but I really think a lot of fans turned the page on him when he went to Boston and started getting hurt. I admit that availability is the most important ability in sports, but I honestly think people have forgotten how good the guy is.
If the Mavs believe the injuries are behind him (again, I think concerns about that are extremely valid) then I'll be optimistic about the fit.
I will also say that when it comes to the PRICE (contract, not trade cost) I hope the Mavs stick to their honest evaluation of what he's worth instead of overreacting to recent events and overpaying.

I'm less concerned about the trade cost than the size of his new contract.

100/4 is a realistic start
