Lord almighty, I sure hope so. It would be tough to do worse.

The Dallas Mavericks have parted ways with VP of strategy and analytics Andrew Baker and director of pro player personnel Makhtar Ndiaye, per @TheSteinLine

I feel like I've heard a ton of good stuff about Andrew Baker, but I don't really have strong feelings about this.

MIL has added or re-signed a lot of rotation players at G positions this summer and seems to have a glut. Herro, Burries, Jakucionis, LaVert, Trent are some of the names.

I am wondering if Ryan Rollins (a UFA next summer) might be gettable as a result. If so, I would be quite interested.

Wasn’t Baker one of the few guys in the draft room?

Sort of interesting dilate in the offseason.  Paired with Phil Handy leaving the coaching staff last week.  Sort of late in both accounts.

Andrew Baker was a key cog in the Sean Marks Brooklyn Nets capology room. He created a lot of creative cap deals that allowed them to get a lot of players. The most prominent deal was the SnT for Kevin Durant and the signing of Kyrie Irving.

It's a pretty big loss. He was a smart guy, but I understand he was apart of Nico's hiring.

Did Ricardi wind up anywhere yet?  It is sort of the sucky thing about this league.  People are replaced or leave.    I was impressed hearing him talk and thought he did an solid job in an impossible position he was thrown into.    He has been in the league for a while and hopefully he finds another leadership role.    It must be tough being so close to getting the GM role with the team in the city you grew up in, but instead having to start over again somewhere else.

Jake Fisher says NOP leading candidate for Mathurin.  They have full MLE at $15mm, but are only $5.7mm under the tax.  So, would send Jordan Hawkins and someone else to some team(s) to stay under the tax with Mathurin starting at $15mm.

Bennedict Mathurin is expected to either be sign-and-traded to the New Orleans Pelicans or opt-in to his qualifying offer to remain with LA, per
@JakeLFischer via B/R.

New Orleans has been the one aggressive suitor for Mathurin.

I am really looking forward to seeing what Larry can do for us...I really think he will do well here and be a good contributing player by mid season...I can not wait to see our much younger team play with an All NBA candidate in Cooper this season...bring on the victims lol...
Josh Green is a top 5 Mavs player...

DeLarrea in Euro play today has been awful. In 11 minutes, only took 1 shot (a missed 3), 3 TOs to 2 AST, and a -20. Ugh. Not exactly what the Mavs need.

...and probably not what the Mavs will get.  We gotta give these new guys some time.  Heck...we gotta give the entire team some time.  There have been a few changes...

Why should the Mavs care how he does playing for someone else?

Flashes. All you want to see from a late round rookie is flashes. Anyone that thinks he’ll be some ROY candidate is just being a super fan. I hope those of us on the board can see it for what it is and give the kid some leeway. Same for Morez. Same for Tarik. None of these guys are likely saviors. Time! Patience.

I really dont understand if they expect him or Sasser to play big minutes this year.  Either way, I'm taking the under of 35 wins. Kyrie isn't going to play 80 games. That guard rotation without Kyrie is straight ass cheeks. Two straight offseasons I'm utterly dumbfounded at the roster construction.

Sounds like the honeymoon is over.

Uriji is just as bad as Nico.

…who was just as bad as Donnie.

Nico's mess wasn't going to be fixed in an offseason and I don't think anywhere here believes any differently.  While our guard rotation is extremely concerning, MBT3.0 probably just couldn't address that concern in an acceptable manner.  Better to be patient than to try and rush things which can lead to overspending or trying to jam a square peg in a round hole.
