I wonder if the Mavs are still in on sending PJ for Cason….

M&M, get ‘er done.

If they don't ask for picks... I'm in.

Not sure how they handle the salary discrepancy.

I hope it works out better now then it did then.

C’mon!!!  Gal was a tour de force!  Didn’t they retire #33?

Maybe one day the Adelsons will retire the not so great Gals jersey.

Btw, this isn’t talked about much but how much of this sudden resurgence of Mavs interest in Euros have to do with Matan Adelson (Miriam and Sheldon’s youngest son), who owns an Hapeol Jerusalem BC (Israeli Euro club team).

I have a distinct feeling that Dumont is just a family figure head.

Seems to me that their free agency is more or less over, aside from perhaps adding Cisse, maybe adding Middleton or getting something back in a sign-and-trade for him. Whatever moves they do to improve the roster from here on out will probably be trades.

So prior to that:
(Lively) Gafford Aldama
Washington Morez
Flagg Marshall Thompson Ishchenko (maybe) Tarik (maybe) Martin
Max Sasser (maybe)
Kyrie Nembhard Sergio (maybe)

Two-ways: Poulakidas, Lawal, maybe Cisse

Thing is, including all the maybes, that's 16 roster spots. Someone's gotta go (or not come).

"It’s unclear what a “significant” offer would entail. The Mavericks could try to sign Biberovic using the second-round exception, which would give him guaranteed money, or they could dip into their mid-level exception or bi-annual exception to present a more lucrative offer.

This will be more than the minimum and will require some exception money (MLE or BAE).  He makes good money in Europe and has to pay part of his own buyout.  So, $2.5ish million isn't going to cut it.

Is he better than Poulakidas? I haven’t had time to watch any of his film.

They HAVE to do something at the guard spot, right?  Right?  RIGHT!?!?!?  If we don't, I do see how you'd be able to consider moving Kyrie by the TDL save for my Fox for Kyrie swap idea.  Should we trade Kyrie in-season and without brining back a PG, we'd be in worse shape than last year's squad.  And if we don't trade Kyrie, that's hoping against hope how much he'll play coming off of a serious injury.

I really hope we find a new home for Klay.  Same for Martin but that is far less unlikely.  I'd be fine selling PJ or Landlord, but I'm not going to give them away.

I really want Lawal on a two-way even if he's a long term project.

From the one 3 pointer I saw which was a fall away with 2 guys draped all over him, I would say he’s a future HOF’er.

Seriously, dude. Find some time to watch the dude a little - you won't be sorry. This is Euro Klay Thompson, I think. Seems cocky, too.

He just played a major role on Fenerbache in winning their 2nd euroleague title in their club history.

He’s on a different level than Pulla3 Johnny, who is a good 2 way. But Biberovic is a legit rotation NBA player at this point. I’d liken him to like Joe Harris.

Is Poulakidas just an afterthought now? I think he’s on the summer league team, but you figure his shooting would garner at least a little of Masai’s attention. Perhaps we just have too many F’s and C’s, or just players in general, at the moment to even think about rostering him. His summer league is likely more of a showcase for another team at this point.

It sounds like Biberovic has a better chance of coming over than Ishchenko.

Is it too early to take bets on the FO saying Kyrie coming back is like getting a free agent? Smile

I mentioned Sexton has to be the baseline for a Simons contract. They are both players with similar skillsets, but Sexton is a better player than Simons, so Simons getting more money than Sexton would have made no sense. Based on that the contract is about right.

Kyrie is not exactly coming directly off a major injury. He has been healthy for a looooololng time now. Tatum came back from a serious injury that was worse and took less time and looked fine.

Kyrie is going to be peak Kyrie.

Smart also signed a small deal. Grimes too but he could get more years out of the Lakers due to their pressure to win. Teams are really cautious with their spending this summer.

Mavs have done pretty well so far too, getting younger clearly seems to be the objective.

1) Younger „vets“ with NBA experience:

Sasser
Aldama

2) Rookies

Morez
De Larrea
Lawal
Ishchenko

+

potentially Biberovic who has been a pro for years in Europe but is also only 25

I like the direction. Nothing groundbreaking but there is some upside here to hopefully develop.
