Free agent center Mitchell Robinson has agreed to a three-year, $47.4 million deal to sign with the Boston Celtics, with a player option in third season, sources tell ESPN. Robinson departs the Knicks after serving a key role on the historic championship team.

Big one here.

Wow! That's big on a number of fronts.

Wasn't he a potential Lakers target?

I hope he will never play a game... He took the bag.

That's a HIGH price for Kessler. Both in salary and picks.

Luka got his man. Lot of pressure on him now to win.

It's the same contract he turned down from Utah. I wouldn't want to pay him that, but I guess 2 teams did.

I was just writing a post about how insane it was for LA to sign Kessler to a huge deal, tie up their resources and then have to wait around until 7/9 to see if Utah matches...

...but this is even crazier, maybe.

So the Lakers gave more for Kessler than for Doncic?

What an incompetent front office the Lakers have!

Crazy what players get paid these days even when they aren't great.

More than two, even, if yesterday's rumor is to be believed.

I don't see it.

Wow...big trade.  Mavs need to hold onto that Lakers pick in 29.  May turn out pretty low, but

28 pick swap goes to Jazz
29 goes to mavs
30 pick swap to Jazz
31 goes to Jazz
33 goes to Jazz

Lakers need to really hit on some of their youngsters and find you pieces to grow.   I really like Kessler.  He has missed time though and is sort of limited.   He should fit in real well with Luka though.

I love Walker Kessler as a healthy player...

But two unprotected firsts and two pick swaps is just plain nuts, but getting a center to play with Luka is a tough task I guess.

I don't see it either. 5 years ago, Kessler would be considered a really solid center with 14/10 averages. He wouldn't have been considered for huge money. I don't understand it either. He's good, but not a game changer.

The Gafford spots are all drying up.   Need May to do his thing and get him and PJ's value back up.
