Trade & Free Agency 2026/2027

They can only choose one though.

And I imagine one of Simmons, White, Sexton, and Powell would be interested in Dallas themselves.

The Boston Celtics are reportedly looking for a big man and are willing to trade Jaylen Brown to acquire one, per
@SIChrisMannix

“Boston continued to discuss Brown trades on Tuesday, two sources familiar with the talks tell Sports Illustrated. Many of the conversations were initiated by rival teams, sources say. Some were brokered by the Celtics. ‘They are hunting a big man,’ says a rival executive. ‘And they are willing to trade [Brown] to get it.’”

Gobert?

My thought too.   If Brown wasn't hellbent on being the guy, a Chet swap would be interesting.  Embiid?

I mean...sure, if you're willing to throw in Thompson, some other contracts and every tradable pick Dallas owns. Does that make any kind of sense for anyone involved?

I suppose it would change my tune about the point of Kyrie Irving, but...I can't see it.

This is a decent thought, actually. I have it in the back of my mind that Stevens likes him, for some reason.

Are there dots to be connected between this idea and dumping Randle?

That´s what I was wondering and no disrespect to Derrick White, but he´s not the 2nd best player on a title team. Are they thinking White, Tatum and Kessler/Gobert make them a legit title contender. Brown must be a total pain in the ass about being the #1 guy.

Damn Lakers took Ishchenko. That´s nice for them. He can take over from Luka in two years. Big Grin

I wonder if they would prefer PJ.

Brown, Flagg, Kyrie is a pretty nice core.  Kyrie would be willing to play second and 3rd fiddle to Brown, Flagg.  It just depends if Flagg is okay being option B.  It would also be a hell of a defensive squad.

Holmgren is honestly as good of a guess as any.

Surely we don't think Clingan or Edey are anywhere close to a level that merits being the target of a Jaylen Brown trade.

Does it make sense for Minny to double up on SGs with Edwards+Brown?

Brown wants to be the guy. Edwards won't let that happen. Seems like thats lighting a match in a firework store.

I think Brown is a forward, but the 2nd point is a concern.

Still, someone is going to want the guy. Frankly, if Gobert is what it costs, what do you have to lose?

I was googling Tobi Lawal and it said his sister was a former Miss Austria. I was immediately thinking we are going after Edwards,  but different Tobias Lawal.

I think if they trade with Minny, they´d want McDaniels and Gobert, but that´s at least a sensible starting point to have discussions.

SGA + Brown is a no-go though.  I don't think OKC has interest in moving off of Chet even if I think it would be smart.  They did draft your guy at 12 though.

I think I buy this.

Is there some financial advantage to the Randle trade that makes this type of move more feasible?

I'd hate to do that if I were Minny but they've made a ton of weird decisions.  Going from a core of KAT, Ant, McDaniels, Gobert and ending up with Ant, Brown, Ayo just feels like the wrong direction.  And again, I'd be concerned about Ant + Brown coexisting.

Gobert for all of his warts is the reason why MINs floor is a strong playoff contender.

I think a trade for Brown makes them worse overall.

But they would have one of the stronger packages if its Gobert+McDaniels.

Bobby Marks says the Raptors and Spurs are keeping and eye on Kawhi Leonard

Marks: "I think there's a lot of playoff teams keeping an eye on what happens with Kawhi Leonard"

"What playoff teams?"

*Silence*

Marks: "Maybe his former teams.”

What about Jaren Jackson, Jr? You know, if the Jazz like Kessler enough to really commit long term?
