I dont see what Carr fills for them.

6'5 scoring combo guard who doesn't really play defense but can jump off the page.

But with no center, the Lakers are stuck.

Great pick by the Lakers. Carr is the last good player in the draft. They did a good job there.

Can Evans play SG?

Lakers need guard/wing defense and a center. This does neither. Just a value play. Nothing wrong at this point.

Should be better than Knecht. Did they cross paths at Tennessee? I think Cenac and peat is an interesting g discussion. Didn’t think Vessaar was with the pick there

Dolan really trying to make a few bucks here by moving down? Come on Dumont. Paypal that dough.

Deep bench behind Luka and Reaves

Damn Tankathon just took Peat out of their 1st round projection for Kayil at #29. I think you have to take him at #30. There is a reason he had a lottery projection and was a winner on every level. You just have to think you can fix the shot.

Lakers are hard capped at the 1st apron now after sending out cash.

Which means they are losing either Lebron or Reaves this summer.

We all talked at  length about Burries being a real steal if he could play the point. Once you slot him at the 2 or 3, his wingspan has limitations.  So if the front office was not convinced that he could guard multiple positions and he is not going to be lighting it up offensively every night, then his value drops for them.  Also, you are talking as if Johnson won't be scoring much or has no upside on his shot.

I don't see this as any sort of catastrophic mistake.  They were constrained by where they drafted and who was left.  Sure if Burries or Ament or Mara turn out to be absolute studs we can talk a few years from now, but by the same token Morez has a lot of upside as well. Let's see.

I'm not calling it a catastrophic mistake (that would be Mara).  But this is not a position of need for a team that had a lot of needs.  Maybe Lively is never going to be able to stay on the court and then it was a position of need.  But that is just an indication of how far this team is.  The odds of them getting near that point before Kyrie is in hard decline is much less likely now.  This is simply a sign that we are looking at a longer rebuild than a lot of folks on here were hoping.

Doesnt mean much if he can't play WITH Luka and Reaves.

Knicks took De Larrea. Possible trade to Mavs, if the Knicks want to trade down all the time.

De Larrea is NY bound.

Crazy decision for one spot. It's not like the Knicks were going to take their guy if they were willing to trade back.

Time to start thinking through OKC PG deals.  FG's sounded good to me, but they have so many.  Lots of possible iterations.

That’s too bad. Mavs lost their guy.

Give me Peat or Evans at #30.

Peat and Cenac are my highest rated. Neither are a fit for the mavs. Do they just go value. Both have man bodies and only 19 and were up and down with deep teams last year

But with no center, the Lakers are stuck.

If he can keep up his shooting % (and he seems to have unlimited range), he can be a very good bench player.  6th and 7th men are usually players who can fill up the scoreboard, but have other defensive or physical limitations that stop them from being starters.
