My thought process would be Giannis on the Celtics is a much better team than Giannis on the Heat so those Heat picks might have a better chance of being more valuable but I'd also way that against what I could eventually flip Brown for. I think I'd probably take the Celtics deal. *shrug*

Ayo had a career year. Before this year he was a solid bench player with poor shooting percentages. If he reverts to that after this contract, I can't see many teams being thrilled with 20+mil a year for a 6'4 defensive specialist guard. It'd basically be a worse version of Lu Dort.

I wonder what the lakers have lined up at center? Claxton for free is pretty interesting. Most of the other guys will take some kind of an asset. Myles Turner? He can probably be had for nothing. He was bad next year but an intersting reclamation project. Probably not the fit Luka is looking for.
Gafford is out there but not sure if i am crazy moving him for a late first when we have no idea if Lively can get on the floor. Gobert? What other starting level rim running centers are available?

Dosunmu ain´t that young. 27 in January. Good work from his agent to parlay one play-off series into his only chance at a life-altering payday. And I say this as somebody who had him as a target, when on the Bulls.

The aftermath of the Giannis trade is mildly interesting. I wonder if Turner or Herro get moved soon.

Seems like they are not fans of Claxton dating back to their center search in last offseason. Or they actually want to spend less of cap space for reinforcements (cap space "going" to their FAs).

I am wondering if they will try to replicate what they unsuccessfully tried with Mark Williams. Pay big for a center on a rookie deal, as they do have three FRP to trade. Ware for example. This would enable them to resign most of their FAs while getting a long-term center solution. Mark Williams deal was Knecht, unprotected FRP and a pick swap.

I wonder if BKN will snatch Norman Powell with (part of) their remaining cap space. I think Heat can't offer him much after Giannis trade.

Marc Spears: "The Pelicans are trying to trade Trey Murphy. I texted him the other day. He was kind of laughing about all these rumors. He's in France right now. But I do think the right, I think the thing is this: it probably will depend on who's sitting there at 11 when that pick comes up. And there's probably a certain amount of players that Joe Dumars and Troy Weaver have on their list that could be attractive to their franchise. If the Warriors can get Trey Murphy, I'm all for trading that pick for Trey Murphy."

FWIW: Giannis Antetokounmpo is the first multi-time MVP winner traded away since Moses Malone.

Sources say Bucks owner Jimmy Haslem was a driving force in taking the Heat deal for Giannis Antetokounmpo over Boston’s offer. Haslem didn’t want to risk Jaylen Brown wanting out of Milwaukee in a year after dealing with Giannis and Myles Garrett trade demands. Haslem wanted certainty, and the Miami deal provided more of that with more total assets in return to Milwaukee.

The Miami Heat are expected to lose Norman Powell in free agency, per @WindhorstESPN “They’re gonna lose their All Star, Norman Powell. Unless he takes a crazy discount. He’s gonna be gone.”

They technically could easily free up the remaining 10 mil they need to get to Reaves' max in the draft. But its definitely more likely that Reaves elects to stay in LA. The question is for how much. Reaves on a max deal is a nail in the coffin for LA.
