And I think he’s in real fear that his sporting legacy will get overtaken in the near future, now that Patrick Dumbmont got legit basketball people for the jobs.

Cuban likes media attention. Media people want to interview him, and he doesn't say no. They ask him about the Mavs and he answers. For all I know, he feeds them the questions ahead of time.

He may not be relevant anymore in the basketball sense, but we're not going to be able to forget about him anytime soon. If the typical media outlets start to forget him, he can always remind us on social media that he has something to say.

I appreciate the way he takes responsibility for his mistakes.

Great video from PandaHank called...

"Watch This Video if You Can't Stop Thinking about Cooper Flagg and Kyrie Irving Playing Together"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t5L_DhRgPec

He patched together Flagg and Kyrie playing together in actual games. Mindless, off-season fun.

Summer workout season is approaching. From the looks of it though, Gafford looks slimmer. I think this is a good way to go.

Mike Schmitz press conference from today.

A few things:

1) I listened to a lot of interviews from Schmitz while he was at draft express and ESPN and found him pretty interesting.  He is pretty boring on the other side.   He doesn't give much away.  Not a lot to take a way.

2) I thought the Mavs would make a trade this offseason but thought they would take a slower approach on roster construction, but I have listened to 3-4 interviews from him since he was hired and the only two players he has mentioned by name are Coop and Kyrie.  I find that a little odd.   He has mentioned both Coop and Kyrie a lot.  I didn't listen to the whole thing today but I didn't hear him mention anyone else.

3) No surprise, but this is Masai's vision.    I think Schmitz is the worker bee, but the vision will be incorporated by Masai.

4) Schmitz like Tex-Mex.  LOL

I was just going to post this interview (above)

The type of things Schmitz looks for in a draft pick starts at exactly the 5:00 mark.

VERY informative. Schmitz Q&A style incredibly impressive. It feels like he is trying to INFORM with his answer to questions, and educate a bit, rather than just offer up some sound bites for writers to pick through and try to glean something to write about.

His comments about Kyrie were very interesting, and about the polar opposite of the views of him I commonly hear in Mavs fandom.

LOL I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and presume you don't.

He thinks the problem was that he gave up control, when the problem was that he had control in the first place.

After more than a year of analyzing Dallas sites for their planned multi-billion-dollar arena and entertainment district, the Mavericks have chosen Valley View, dealing a major setback to efforts to bring the project downtown. The Mavericks on Monday executed option agreements to purchase approximately 104 acres of the 110-acre former site of Valley View Mall, the franchise told The Dallas Morning News in an emailed statement. It’s a seismic decision that could reshape Dallas’ sports and entertainment landscape for decades, upending the city’s NBA franchise from its 46-year epicenter by moving it and its games 13 miles to the north. From urban to near-suburbia.

Dallas Morning News

The Mavericks were seeking at least a 50-acre footprint for the project, the centerpiece being a basketball-specific arena to be completed by the time its American Airlines Center lease expires on July 28, 2031. That timeline was a significant factor in Monday’s decision, multiple people familiar with the negotiating process told The News.

I have believe they have put out feelers for  coach.   So probably means Nori is not a candidate.

15 years ago today. Game 6 was the biggest win in franchise history. Was game two the most important?

Am I the only one squirming a bit that they don't have a coach yet?

No, but I'm choosing to hope that no news means "we're waiting for Nick Nurse to complete buyout negotiations with the 76ers."

Maybe he is lying but why would you ever consult with Mark on draft stuff?
