No boot. No crutches. Honestly more important than the entire ROY stuff.

Good news. Can he stay healthy?

I think his potential is so high.   Not in counting stats, but he impacts winning.  Although for next year, I just want him to play.  I will back of what I think he can be, I just want to see him healthy.   He really hasn't played much in two years.   I think he should be a 20-24 minute per game player.  Probably coming off the bench.   Let him prove he can play that role and then we can have bigger conversations.

Cuban admits he wanted to buy the Mavs back.

Blackman and Ricardi repoing the mavs at lottery again, per Stein.

Also per Stein, Mavs have yet to request permission to speak with Lindsey. If true, I assume he is not a candidate. Isn’t he a candidate for the bulls and as the number 2, there is no reason not to talk with him.

Screw Dumont and his anti-Cuban bias.

Unless, of course, he already has Presti in the bag and can't say anything.

Also worth noting, while nothing official supposedly the Timberwolves #2 is the front runner for the Bulls GM (even mentioned the coach who would come with him).  Again, nothing official but some reporting.

If so, it would make even more sense that Connelly is not planning on going anywhere as the potential Wolves opening would be much more appealing than the Bulls opening.

My prediction for the Mavs is Ricardo gets the permanent GM position, but the Mavs hire a president of basketball operations above him.    This will be someone with a lot of skins on the wall, but not someone who wants to do the daily GM stuff.   Myers would be the ideal candidate, but not sure he has interest.  Steve Kerr type too....not saying I want him but a guy with that type of time in the league.

Once again...wrong as always.

Mavs hiring Masai.  Lets go!

Certainly better than Nico, but it feels like since the Raptors won the title he's been, as my kids say, "mid" at best

I think that is fair.  We will see if it just your normal up and downs as a GM or if he best is behind him.  I really think he got stuck in rut of having a good, but not great team.   It is easy to say they should have blown things up and started over, but that is hard to do.  Especially or a team like Toronto.    Ownership has a voice in things too.    I think when you lack a star, it can be a long journey trying to find one.   It looks like he decided to try to be an average to slighty above average team and hoped to luck their way into a star like they did with Leonard.   I was personally a fan of RJ and Barrett moves.  Poetl blew up in their faces.    But when you are just trying to keep the ship steady waiting for that big move, some of these decisions make some sense.

I think you might have been right.  Looks like Ujiri will be president, and I would not be surprised if Ricardi gets GM gig.

Hopefully, he'll have better success his third time around than Joe Dumars did his second time.

My impression is that he's been pretty good at finding gems in lower draft positions and UDFAs. The single best deal he did was to trade for Leonard after Kawahi got sideways with Pop and the San Antonio management team. One and done, but it got Masai a ring and upped his reputation.
