I was not among the reporters invited to speak with Dallas Mavericks GM Nico Harrison and CEO Rick Welts this morning.

A front office that is confident in its moves doesn't need to speak only to selected media without recording devices.

This has been an utterly bizarre season.

All I can let out is a hearty defeated chuckle that this franchise is not the one I’ve come to love anymore.

They should have fired him on the spot. There's no point in keeping him around while the Mavs get bounced in the play in round.

I think this event is a preparation for Nico being fired immediately when Mavs finish the season. I think it really is their only possibility going forward. This is the only way the uncomfortable questions stop and the team can move forward.

Even if Nico is just a scapegoat, it is much easier for Dumont as he can just avoid the media letting someone else answer the questions.
