Nico Harrison on if he feels like he has an obligation to the Mavs fanbase on how they feel about Luka being traded:

“No, my obligation is to the Dallas Mavericks. What’s in the best interest of the Dallas Mavericks. That’s the most important thing.”

.@tim_cato said on @DLLS_Mavs that Mavs CEO Rick Welts compared the Luka Dončić trade to the his former team Warriors trading Monta Ellis for Andrew Bogut in 2012.

Unbelievably out of touch.

Nico doubles down on the trade:

"There's no regrets on the trade. Part of it is doing the best thing for the Mavs."

“The Dallas Mavericks issued an invite to a hand-selected group of media members on Monday”

“The invite, sent out with less than 24 hours' notice”

“but no cameras or recording devices are allowed”

Welts said in his 47 years in his role, he's never seen a more passionate fanbase than Dallas. "We hear them. It's on us to win back their trust," he said. "This story is unfinished. We understand the pain."

"THERE'S NO REGRETS": Dallas Mavs GM Nico Harrison believes that Luka Doncic is extremely talented, but doubled down in saying the trade "was the best decision going forward," during a roundtable discussion Monday.

The Mavs used to be an organization where you could send the owner or GM a text or email and they'd respond within minutes

Now they're not allowing recording devices in interviews.

No respect for the fans, he can't survive another season in Texas. He doesn't understand what is happened.

I was not among the reporters invited to speak with Dallas Mavericks GM Nico Harrison and CEO Rick Welts this morning.

A front office that is confident in its moves doesn't need to speak only to selected media without recording devices.

This has been an utterly bizarre season.

What is a team without fans?

All I can let out is a hearty defeated chuckle that this franchise is not the one I’ve come to love anymore.

They should have fired him on the spot. There's no point in keeping him around while the Mavs get bounced in the play in round.

I think this event is a preparation for Nico being fired immediately when Mavs finish the season. I think it really is their only possibility going forward. This is the only way the uncomfortable questions stop and the team can move forward.

Even if Nico is just a scapegoat, it is much easier for Dumont as he can just avoid the media letting someone else answer the questions.
