Because, as evidenced by the trade itself, Nico is a moron.

I would have just kept Grimes and the pick. I liked Grimes, but the team thought otherwise. Something was off there.

Not too familar with Martin this year. This summer he was views as a "get" when he left Miami. On the otherhand, I tend to discount players when they leave the Miami system. Tend to play their best in Miami.

Tough to really rate these role players until you see them on your team. A lot of times it really matters who is around them.

I do know he is a pretty tough guy and I like that. I would have kept Grimes though.

edit- Any chance he could be moved again? We seem to have a lot of guys who are not starters and similar. Is that a role you want to pay multiple years for?

If that's how it works...I like Dwight Powell.

This made me laugh a lot. Again, very needed during these trying times.

Thank moo.

This is a good point.  Reminds of another player we traded for that played well in Miami, then went to Philly for a year and struggled.  Folks thought we were getting the Miami version of Josh Richardson, but instead we got the Philly version.  Hope not the same with Caleb.

He outlasted Dirk, Luka, Cuban, Donnie and RC. The entire organisation has changed and he is the one consistent.

Amazing for a guy Boston threw our way in Rondo trade. I actually respect him for what he achieved considering his abilities, expectations and injuries.

Asked Jason Kidd about the decision to trade Quentin Grimes:

"I can just talk about what Q meant to us in the short stint that he was with us. He did everything we asked. He's a pro. I talked to him this afternoon. His ability defensively & then offensively to help us. We're going to miss him."

Haha. That’s a better send off than they gave Luka. What a bunch of losers.

I agree, but again...should tell us something about just how sick of Luka they really were.

Which is crazy.

Sick of what? He was overweight??? Dude was averaging a 30 point triple double and carried this team every night.

You can have some leeway and let the guy drink a gallon of ice tea for all I care. Luka showed he can win even with this supposed deficiency.

I can't stand it man. Why did it have to be us.

This is official right? Has the Mavs made any comments on Martin? Kidd answered a question about Grimes but did not answer a question about Martin. I haven't seen anything, but I wasn't really looking either.

Grant tweeted this 15 minutes ago: Trade pending

The following players did not fully participate in today's Dallas Mavericks practice in Philadelphia:

P.J. Washington (personal)
Anthony Davis (abdominal strain)
Dwight Powell (right hip strain)
Dereck Lively II (right ankle stress fracture)
Caleb Martin (trade pending)

I believe it is still pending. And it’s probably because Mr. Snake would prefer to loop in another trade to potentially bring back a bigger piece.

But who knows.

Probably waiting on physicals for both him and Grimes.

Dallas is sending Quentin Grimes and Philadelphia's 2025 second-round pick back to the 76ers for Martin, sources tell ESPN

Bullshit!  This isn't even funny.  It's a joke...right?

What? It's real? And a second round pick? For Caleb Martin?

Here...hold my beer. Nico can't be done yet.....!

My head reels...

The Sixers are now sending an additional 2030 second-round pick to Dallas as an amended aspect of Philadelphia's trade earlier this week to send Caleb Martin to the Mavericks, league sources tell @TheSteinLine
