I couldn't stomach supporting a team that is generating revenue for the Adelson's and haven't been following the Mavs this season but couldn't ignore todays nuke. Just brutal. But also fitting. The second real MVP-level franchise player in the history of the franchise and they just throw it all away for...what? Money? Off court deals? Relocation?

Feel bad for all of you that hoped for another deep playoff run.

this team knows more about luka's health than any other team does, not to say the media and fans, and it's not just body weight imho. Jokic is fat too and he has won MVP thrice. luka is a great player and he will (hopefully, even if he's not a mav any more) live up to people's expectations, but I don't think he's figured out the right way to lead a team to glories, not as much as the true greats (like Jokic) do tbh.

mavs could certainly have got more from such a deal given luka's market value, but I don't think it is too bad for us either. it doesn't weaken our team on paper, and it even makes our roster more balanced. it may hurt in the long run but at least we didn't let him walk free (like Jalen and tc). and if we indeed gave him a lucrative extension and he turned injury prone we we would be seriously fucked. nonetheless, we're facing a dilemma - should we play hard for the rest of season, or tank this season for better odds in the lottery which however would mean one of the remaining prime years of Davis and Kyrie being wasted?

Everybody is tradeable. This is just not a trade. It´s just a transaction that happened. The only way to justify this deal is that Luka has gone on a murder spree in Triglav national park. And you only do this transaction after you checked that he´s not getting out for good behaviour after eight years.

And I don´t buy for one second that Luka secretly forced their hand with "Lakers only or I leave" and they just won´t admit it. Nico looks like a fool and takes the fall for Trade Demand Luka. Why? Luka just lost $120M. He could have signed the extension in the summer, asked out and the Lakers still do the exact same transaction.

I really wish the SuperSonics were coming back.

And in 1 move, I just can’t respect nor root for this franchise. I just can’t rationalize any of this. It makes no sense. I despise Nico Harrison and the Adelsons for making this move.
