Marshall and Thompson now also questionable in addition to Lively and Grimes. Luka, Hardy, Powell and Exum all out.
Ugh. So when can we talk about our training staff? Is this the first or second year with a new staff?

The training staff must be terrible. I've never seen an NBA team struggle with injuries like this throughout their roster.

Casey left, what last year? There seems to be a systemic training problem with this team

Just curious...would you have any interest in that PHX-Utah trade prototype. Would you trade 31 for three potentially bad number one picks sooner?
I would guess no, but curious.

Well, PHX is only interested in the trade as a means of acquiring Jimmy Butler. If the Mavs had a target in mind, and that sort of stepping stone trade was necessary to get him, I might be interested, depending on that target. But no, not interested in preemptively making a trade like that just in case.

Dallas Mavericks center Dereck Lively II has sustained a small fracture in his foot and is expected to miss 2-to-3 months, sources tell ESPN. Critical loss for the Mavs.

Sounds like a training staff found out the x-rays were negative and said, "well lets see if we can fix that with a sharp object"
I am depressed. trynig to make comedy but this is so depressing.

Ok, I have not been thinking about possibly punting on this season until now. How likely is a pivot to being sellers and pivoting to the draft and next season? I guess it all depends on how Luka is progressing, right? A potential top-10 pick in a loaded draft is not nothing…

Bright side, even with Lively out, as long as Luka comes back this team is still great. Gafford was our starting center last year and him with Luka is still great.

So my wishes:
1) no win now trades with any our picks (outside of the Philly second). Now is not the time to plug holes short term
2) Don't rush Luka back
3) don't overwork Kyrie with minutes
4) Maxi gets the backup 5 minutes and gets a chance to prove we have been wrong about him
5) Omax gets backup 4 minutes and has a chance to show he can be a solution here moving forward.
Mavs won't tank and should not. They got their one chance two years ago and that team was much worse than this one. But this appears to be an uphill battle for them to get into the top 6. Got to hope they stay close and then get a healthy Luka back for the last few months.

Hello darkness my old friend. At this point, I´d not be totally opposed to tank and get Luka 100% healthy and in shape. Imho Kyrie looks already worn down, too. Last year was partly a success, cause Kyrie was resting for half the regular season and was 100% for the play-offs.

That's probably a wrap on any short-term possibility of Gafford getting dealt.
It's also probably a significant lowering of this season's ceiling.

Sure, only...what big event does team Slovenia have this summer that he'd be using his $50 million+ salary to rehab for? When does he start missing THEIR stuff to play for the team providing him with generational wealth?

Well, that's pretty much exactly how the past two weeks have gone, so it seems like they're on the same page with you.

Hopefully this summer?
I'm onboard with the tank. Two most important players out for that long and a hobbled Kyrie...just treat this like the 97 Spurs. Really good roster just with bad luck so take advantage.

Hard disagree with you on this one, but I appreciate you trying to stay positive. This one is brutal. It's time to consider tanking and definitely don't trade our pick now. Gafford is a very quality center, but he's best as a 1/2 punch. Now we don't have a legit backup 5 and Maxi isn't one. Maxi will get hurt playing extended minutes. This just isn't good news at all. It sucks.
