AROUND the NBA:

I was thinking the exact same.  I haven't seen any of their games, but follow fantasy daily and just know that Halliburton is completely underperforming.

The Lakers are total garbage. They've gotta work in some rest for Lebron. He has 22 turnovers the last 5 games,

Atlanta has been hot ever since the Mavs beat them. They've won their 5 straight while stopping the Bucks 7 game winning streak, 119-104. Also, Brooklyn has been better than expected after trading away Bridges and a bunch of assets. They've beat some good teams. Rookie coach Jordi Fernandez is doing a pretty good job coaching this rag tag bunch.

They desperately need to play the Mavericks.

Really tough to know what the Lakers should do. I think they are better than last year but then again last year both Lebron and Davis were healthy. Regardless they are not a contender and I am not sure there is a path to make them a contender. They also don't have many assets. I think they hit on their first round pick but I am not sure what he is yet.

I think ideally if they could add a center and a bigger guard that would be a good place to start. Is it worth giving up all their assets though? I think Walker Kessler would be great for them. I just don't know if he is gettable at a reasonable price. Then if you could upgrade the DLo spot...that would be a better fit.

Just not sure it really matters

I think we are watching the death throes of the LBJ Lakers era. LBJ is no longer able to drag a team to the playoffs, much less a championship. AD can't do it alone, is on the wrong side of 30 and you know injury will find him at some point. Everyone else is either somewhat short on NBA experience or NBA skills. Add in off season stunts like using assets to draft Bronnie (just to appease LBJ and Rich Paul, IMO), and LAL has turned into a circus. They do have a lot of their own draft picks over the next several years, but what max-level star wants to go there and be expected to lead that group to anything meaningful?

Well, since you asked...

Luka 'Hollywood' Doncic does have a nice ring to it.

I kid! Tongue

How do you beat Boston? Watching a good bucks vs the Celtics game. I looks like the Celtics will win a close game. They are without KP tonight and after a hit shooting night are at 32 percent from three on 50 attempts. Most of their attempts are good looks though. When they are not shooting open threes they get looks at the rim. I am just not sure how you attack them or beat them.

Even in the dumb heroball end of game department Young has Luka covered in inferiority. Took three horrible shots in a row, luckily one of them ended in the hands of Hunter, who made a three, so they are going to OT.

What makes them tough to beat is they're spacing and how they spread teams out.  Even if the 3's aren't falling, they can still score in the mid-range or the paint until they start falling again. Because they're going to continue to take them. Add their defensive chops to the equation, it makes them very tough.

Just in: Orlando Magic star forward Franz Wagner has suffered a torn right oblique and is out indefinitely, sources tell ESPN. Wagner sustained the injury Friday night and will be re-evaluated in four weeks.

Same injury as Banchero, isn’t it?

That sucks for Franz, he was balling these last weeks and the injury will probably cost him the Most Improved Player Award.

Well I am sure they will win but the nuggets are down 6 entering the fourth and jokic has 47 pts against the wizards. Yes, the wizards

That last minute took forever. They were like down 8-10 pts and just couldn ´t come to grips with the fact that they just lost to the Wizards despite 56/16/8 from Jokic. Big Grin

They didn’t - the Wizards won despite Jokic scoring 56 points with 16 boards and 8 assists. Crazy!

Detroit wins at MSG for the 1st time since 2019, 120-111. This stopped a 16-game losing streak to the Knicks. KAT didn't play but Cade Cunningham had a triple double with 29 15 and 10.

Phx is 1-8 without KD. Sucks that a 36 year old is so important to that team.
