Damn. Damn. Damn.
I still can't believe what the hell just happened today. RIP Kobe and Gigi I feel so sad for his other 3 daughters. It's hard enough to deal with for an adult, can't imagine how kids could go through something like this

This day is not about Mark Cuban and Dallas Mavericks making impulsive decisions. He should have just given his condolences and left it at that.

I know what it’s like to lose a loved one.Even though I will always be an MFFL.I can appreciate greatness. I respect the fierce, competitor he was. He was definitely the closest thing to MJ. What a sad day! There will never be another Kobe! (01-26-2020, 10:05 PM)fifteenth Wrote:(01-26-2020, 09:32 PM)J817 Wrote: This was not the time to announce this. I wasn’t Kobe’s fan, though he was someone I watched during my childhood. I have spent hours today watching the news about this tragic event. Feeling numb and tearing up as I watched. I respect Cuban for feeling what I’m feeling right now but to announce something like he announced today almost seems like he is trying to one up the other twitter posts that were posted today. Maybe he isn’t idk. I do know it was unnecessary to announce it today. Maybe tomorrow but not today. Also, the number #24 should have been in the rafters years ago.

I shouldn't give you a hard time for expressing what you're going through regarding all this. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Death sucks (understatement). It's a thief. Oh God, have mercy on Kobe, comfort his loved ones (you're a "father to the fatherless and a dedender of widows"), and help the rest of us to make the most of the time we have left.
I remember listening to this podcast about a year ago with Kobe. It's a great listen; dived deep into his work ethic and post-NBA business life. Tragic, he had a lot more to give. Around the 36:20 mark, he even talks about his use of helicopters to have more time with his family.

So sad. I was a Kobe fan...even though he played for the Lakers and usually torched us. Especially as his generation of players got older (including Dirk, KG, TD, etc.), I respected them more as they still hung around while the LeBron generation of players replaced them in the spotlight.

I just want to add my grief to everyone here. We all hope we don't have anything like this happens because when things like this happen....it is so hard. We will miss you Kobe Bryant!
This Reunion Rowdie says the AAC needs "Luka's Lunatics" for the Luka/KP and gang era.

Very true. Though just briefly I think this has a lot to do with the coverage, too. A prime example when ESPN basically edits its Bron overtakes Kobe in scoring piece and adds Kobe is dead in an additional opening paragraph. RIP Kobe. |
