Seems teams really want to give up nothing for a pick in this draft, so all potential trade spots (Houston, Charlotte, Portland, Sacramento have just collapsed so far. Imagine if we hadn´t tanked last year to get Lively, converted him to the Knicks, to add to Brunson/Bridges/Anunoby/Randle while we get to pick some projected bum this year. But yeah strategic tanking is dumb.

at least in that way we would've helped make a team capable of beating Boston in the east (also don't forget how NY got their alpha guy named Brunson).

For all the talk about this draft being all over the place, Tankathon has been pretty good. Still a chance there top 17 projected player are all gone by 17.

I had Dalton Knecht 14th on my board. He's 23 and you can't pretend this doesn't matter when all of draft history says it matters. He's 18 months older than Josh Giddey!

This is somewhat of a 2nd apron loophole in the CBA

They effectively just traded for a $5M player when they literally would not be able to spend that much on any other player outside of very limited trade options

trying our luck on those leftovers seems the best way to strengthen our roster these days. decent players in the market are just too expensive, big name free agents would rather choose LA and NY. there might be some ring chasers willing to accept vet mins, if not all of them have been wrapped up by other contenders already.
