2024 NBA Draft
(06-26-2024, 08:32 PM)Mavs2021 Wrote: Seems teams really want to give up nothing for a pick in this draft, so all potential trade spots (Houston, Charlotte, Portland, Sacramento have just collapsed so far. Imagine if we hadn´t tanked last year to get Lively, converted him to the Knicks, to add to Brunson/Bridges/Anunoby/Randle while we get to pick some projected bum this year. But yeah strategic tanking is dumb. Cry

at least in that way we would've helped make a team capable of beating Boston in the east (also don't forget how NY got their alpha guy named Brunson).

Really feels this draft is so bad that you might be able to get a Bagley + #26 pick for THJ and a 2025 1st round pick (top 27 protected) Big Grin

Your guess is good as mine. Never heard of him. He played at Pittsburgh.

For all the talk about this draft being all over the place, Tankathon has been pretty good. Still a chance there top 17 projected player are all gone by 17.

Jake Fischer with another whiff it appears. He says Heat taking McClain. Shams says it is Ware.

He’s a solid player.  Still a bit of a reach. Even more crazy is that he was the first ACC player picked

I doubt any of those guys would've made even top 10 in last year's draft. really smart move for edey to withdraw last year tbh.

Damn you Miami. Kal'el Ware is a great pick.

I had Dalton Knecht 14th on my board. He's 23 and you can't pretend this doesn't matter when all of draft history says it matters. He's 18 months older than Josh Giddey!

My best players available (rankings in parentheses)

Dalton Knecht (8)
Jaylon Tyson (11)
Tristan Da Silva (13)
DaRon Holmes (14)
Tyler Kolek (15)
Yves Missi (17)
Jared McCain (18)
Baylor Scheierman (20)

Lots of options for Orlando at 18

Dalton Knecht is still on the board. Are teams scared of his age? Dude gets buckets. Maybe the Lakers take him.

Fascinating for Minnesota to trade for Rob Dillingham

This is somewhat of a 2nd apron loophole in the CBA

They effectively just traded for a $5M player when they literally would not be able to spend that much on any other player outside of very limited trade options

Carlisle should not stand for the Lakers taking the oldest guy in the draft and take Bronny in the 2nd.

Lakers get the guy that falls with Knecht. Hard to fault them with that. Hopefully the Lakers did not find a diamond in the rough.

trying our luck on those leftovers seems the best way to strengthen our roster these days. decent players in the market are just too expensive, big name free agents would rather choose LA and NY. there might be some ring chasers willing to accept vet mins, if not all of them have been wrapped up by other contenders already.

Woah!

Why would the Magic take Da Silva?? How many wings do the Magic need?? Great pick for them.
