Whatever you gain in size, toughness, and rebounding is more than made up for when Luka has to drive into a clogged paint and ends up turning it over.
My prediction is come November and December we're going to get off to a slow start and after two months of everyone on this board complaining about rotations we'll finally see Kidd make a change to the starting lineup and suddenly everything will start clicking once we go exclusively to lineups that feature Wood and McGee as the lone big surrounded by shooters. If I'm wrong then I'm wrong and I'll be humble enough to admit it, but I feel strongly that something like this will be how it plays out.

The way my mind works when I hear Kidd's comment is I start looking for someone to be _______. Interestingly enough, if Jalen goes out in a S&T and Starts at the $28,108,108 he's able to in a match for Noel/Burks, half of that...$14,054,054 plus Josh at $3.098,400 is $17.15mm and matches salary up to $21.54mm.
Repeating something here that I wrote in the Brunson Thread as my math here isn't accurate in the above post. I used some dated numbers from something that had been posted not realizing Kemba was in those numbers. Apologies. Moving too fast. In a trade matching deal, Brunson can make a little over $24mm with Burks/Noel as the outgoing. The ship has sailed on the deal outlined in that post.
Unless I'm not accounting for enough cap holds, I think the deal above is still possible, but not because NY is operating over the cap. With the cutting of Gibson, there is enough room to get Brunson a declining contract starting in the same $28mm which yields Dallas a $14mm TPE or allows Dallas to trade match using Brunson's $14mm outgoing. So, the deal above (or the Bogdanovic deal in the Brunson Thread) could still work if Dallas participates in a S&T with Brunson getting the larger salary using the newly expanded cap room NY now has. But, they no longer 'need' Dallas which means Dallas might have to pay for the privilege if they have a deal lined up that requires Brunson's outgoing salary. So the S&T theory probably took a hit with the Gibson cut. The idea of not having to pay for the S&T most certainly took a hit.

Maybe removing protections on the '23 pick?

I just don't believe Dorsey will be a two way guy if he signs here. Maybe we are working on stuff but it may not happen for a month or so, and instead of keep him waiting, sign him to a two way slot until another spot opens up? Or can you have extra roster spots at this time?

You could very well be right but even if you are is it bad for Kidd to experiment with what he's got? What if by some magical reason the Wood+McGee+Dinwiddie lineup actually blows teams out of the water? Like Warrior death lineup style?
Obviously the possibility of that happening is like 0.00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001% chance of happening, but we'll never know unless Kidd tries it. And the best time to try it is opening day vs. 5 months in.

Yes, there needs to be a better option out there, right? I don't want to give this front office the benefit of the doubt until they prove other wise. But they clearly need another wing and another creator. Can that be one person? It would be pretty disappointing if those holes are not filled.

I am fine with McGee starting. Maybe it doesn't work, but I really don't think it is a big deal. Games typically start at a little slower pace. So Kidd is probably envisioning when McGee started for the championship Laker team before going out five or so minutes into the game. It also helps limit some minutes Wood is banging with a center during the long regular season. His body is probably not best to bang game in, game out for a full season.
I am sort of surprised about Dinwiddie starting though. To be honest though, any choice as the last starter is a tad flawed. I think Dinwiddie could be very good in that role, I just don't know if he will be nearly as efficient as Jalen. One hidden thing about losing Jalen, is I was weirdly confident we would be good when Luka went out last year. It was a big part of this teams success. If that decreases a bit, that is a big loss. Hopefully we have a strong group who plays well together when Luka sits.

It is very strange but I guess Frank will get some burn at PG. They will sign someone at some point to spot 15 but they keep saying they want a wing not a PG.

Kemba Walker is about to be a Maverick.
I used to really want him…now?

I wouldn’t be super thrilled about “Scary Terry,” either, but he does fill a current need, and in an over-the-cap world I think letting Brandon’s money just melt away would be a mistake. It wouldn’t be as good as just keeping Brunson would’ve been, but at least he’s a rotation-worthy piece!

I am not sure if you are joking or not. I just can't see it though. The Mavs seem to want to be bigger. Kemba being small and not good on defense would seem like contradictions on what they are looking for. Not sure which minimum guys are better than Goran though. So there must be something else.
I saw some quotes from Cuban about Brunson. They are really being professional with their comments. It doesn't appear there is a lot of bitterness. It makes me feel like there is another move that may come they feel good with, but again the Mavs have a track record of letting us down.

???
Please tell me no.
I used to be all about Kemba. I actually was one of the first few to do a deep dive on CHA and predicted that MJ wouldn't pay up. I also thought he was for sure going to be a Mav until Horford left the Celtics.
But Kemba is toast. Kamm called his knees being blown. I'd be shocked if he became a Mav and they chose him over Dragic.

I mean I would have just signed Dragic for the minimum, but Rozier is better than the bag full of nothing we have at backup PG right now

I've got no problem with Kemba Walker in the role he'd have here and for the price. He's not the same player he was a few years back but the alternative was a Dragic on his last legs too. Kemba wouldn't be expected to be one of the Top-5 players on this team, he'd just be depth and it helps that he's a solid career 3-pt shooter.

One NBA-ref-conspiracy theorist’s view of why McGee and Dinwiddie should start which, it appears, they will do:
McGee is near or at the league lead in fouls per minute. He also plays a style that requires a lot of energy out of what are getting to be old legs. This counsels in favor of 4 short stints at the beginning of quarters—before the opposition is in the bonus—rather than lengthier runs when his fouls are more likely to result in free throws.
Dinwiddie is among the league’s best at drawing fouls, providing the refs are willing to blow the whistle. In general, they seem to be more willing to give calls to starters than to members of the bench mob, especially come playoff time. Giving Dinwiddie the street cred that comes with starting may beget extra FTs when it matters most.
