I think he is taking more 3s and midrange shots than he normally does and less at the rim. I agree that he has been cold in general (like Maxi he is regressing to the mean on his 3 point shot over the last 2 months, just in the other direction) but I think part of the problem is that he is not taking the shots he is most comfortable with.

Everything I'm reading sounds like the keys for tonight are:
- Make Goobert guard someone, which means keep Maxi out of early foul trouble and wears Goobert down.
- Minimize UTA FTAs if possible. Have a feel for how the refs are calling the plays.
- Understand UTA will play with desperation to avoid going down to 3rd loss. Match intensity from the start. Defend the home court.
- Don't let Bojan or Mitchell get their rhythm. This has worked so far, don't give up on it.
- Remember that the last loss was by one point in a fluky ending with UTA having taken +17 FTAs. Don't panic, you got this.

I'd add that we should try to get Clarkson in foul trouble again and dare Conley to beat you.

Truth is, Dinwiddie shoots 41% from the field and 31% from 3PT range for his career. This is who he is: not a good jump shooter at all; his regular season numbers with DAL were an anomaly, unfortunately.
I really like Dinwiddie's game minus the hero-ball antics. Although, part of that is that he's been given the green light by Kidd; starting to think THJ would have made things a lot easier for him and the Mavs.

Green has shown flashes in season and in game 3 of being a nice rotation piece. That said, in this particular series, if THJ was there to eat those minutes it would be a game changer.
Green isn't a lockdown defender at this point and I don't think what you lose there would offset what a nightmare THJ's spacing would be for Utah's defense.
Green also adds some hustle plays and playmaking that THJ doesn't...but this series boils down to the Mavs making 3's and keeping Gobert away from the paint. THJ would have been a serious weapon in that regard.

I mean he is shooting 32% and 18% so far this series. He is not that bad. But my whole point is that he not a good jump shooter and most of his offensive value is playmaking and getting to the rim, and the later is tough to do with Gobert in the paint.

But I agree, it is not what you would expect. But I can remember SO many drives from SD that were completely squelched or derailed by Gobert's presence.
Maybe but the bigger issue from my seat is that SD is registering misses when he would normally be shooting free throws. JB figured that out (“doesn’t matter”) and found ways to get the ball in the hole.

But, but, but Dorian isn't a top tier defender in the league.
