Have nice day, guys you´ve got a great community
First off your post was perfect english wise. I understood it totally.
Second off, I appreciate the thoughts! I don't really agree with it however. I think the Mavs went out there and targeted 2 role players that filled a need.
Put it this way, the Mavs with Luka/Jrich/DFS/Kleber/KP were +12.7 while on the court. When we got that starting lineup in February the Mavs went 20-9 till April. They were one of the hottest teams in the NBA going into the playoffs.
Of course we relied on our Slovenian superstar greatly, and he was the engine that drove this ship. This flawed Mavs team also were up 2-0 against the vaunted Clips and looked poised to beat them until they went small and the Mavs couldn't match it. Again, the Mavs were looking to beat the Clips while Josh Richardson couldn't play, Kleber couldn't shoot, and Brunson couldn't run the offense. Despite all of that the Mavs were right there.
I think Bullock and Brown help fix that JRich debacle (i still miss Curry). Getting Dragic also solves the lack of playmaking Brunson has. We just need a solid PF that can actually play in the playoffs and I think the Mavs are sitting pretty.
I agree with you that the talent level of the acquisitions we signed so far weren't what I was expecting and definitely don't qualify as bonafide starter-level talent. That doesn't mean however, the acquisitions were bad and the Mavs are failing at free agency.
Finally, thanks for posting!! Keep it up. The more opinions the better!

It's funny how Siakam is neither a stretch big (at least of late) nor is a rim roller (exactly the type of bigs you want with Luka), BUT he fills a need for the Mavs.
Siakam is a PF - check
Siakam is playmaker (not necessarily a PG but a player who can make shots on his own, and make shots for others) - check
Two needs in one player.
Luka hasn't had a scorer like this to play with. KP needed Luka or someone else to set him up.
Siakam doesn't really need Luka to score.
Interesting fit. Both can play multiple positions. Tons of lineup flexibility.

Interesting fit.
And Siakam is an INCREDIBLY capable and versatile defender.
I have been hoping for a KP for Siakam trade since the very end of December when he was benched. I said then (and it hasn't changed), its the perfect kind of swap where each team gets a high end talent with potential while giving up their poor fit player.

It’s also a youth movement for Tor giving them JB in the trade as well.

My pipe dream is SGA. OKC is sending mixed messages. They included him in a trade proposal to move up in the draft. Now they gave him a max extension. Need to get a 2023 1st first. Offer all available firsts (22,24,26), pick swaps in other years and KP.

As an over the cap team the Mavs should still have Redicks caphold. I wonder if one of the over the cap contenders (Lakers, Clippers, 76ers) is interested in a sign&trade.

My eyes popped open at like 5 AM this morning with a similar thought. I guess it's just a matter of whether or not there's competition for his services and someone thinks he's worth more than the minimum. I hope there's at least a way to recoup that 2nd that everyone thought was terrible to give away.
Hell, I'd even take him back on a one-year overpay, personally. I LIKE shooting.

Would consider it as well but the Mavs are running out of roster spots. Need to get rid of 2-3 centers before they can do anything else and even if they do it I would probably pick younger players for the last roster spots. Especially if they add a veteran like Dragic in a trade.

A bodyguard for KD that can enter the court without being kicked out of the building.
