That is a serious issue. I would have liked them to chase aome windmills this time with the backup option of going big on THT. I know he is a RFA. Should have taken some chances.
And recent history, overpaying RFAs is where we've had the most success acquiring younger talent.

FWIW, DeRozan has played SF/PF the last 2 years for the Spurs. Positions are kinda meaningless but he fits. I think if the Mavs offer him 20M a year it'd be attractive enough. Just have to shed 6M.

I don't hate it, I guess. I think DeRozan would also be mostly okay transitioning to a super 6th man towards the end of the contract.

nah we are over the cap.
We have the 11 mill TE and BAE as the only thing left from what I can tell.

Mavs don't have to be over the cap though (as long as Brown's deal is part of the MLE and not the BAE). If DeRozan can be had we can easily pivot.
Not saying it's likely or that the Mavs should do it. But it'd be an interesting pivot.

What are the Rockets doing? Trying to pretend they are the Astros and hope they can trade him at the deadline for rebuilding pieces?

The Caruso deal really hurts. That´s not even the full MLE. Theis and McConnell as well. Would take all three over the combination of Bullock/Brown.
Brown has to be an agent favor or he was Kidd´s favorit in Milwaukee. Really screams Burke 2.0. Based on his career numbers he is a 12th-15th man. That´s vet min territory.

Really no clue. They have Wood. Draft Sengun. Now throw Theis an MLE level deal?
I suppose they aren't trying to win next year but their moves are puzzling.

Selling high on Wood perhaps?

Brown is reported at $6.2mm divided over two years. BAE starts at $3.73 in the first year with a 5% raise in year two for a total of $7.65mm. Not sure who posted Brown as BAE, but it has been bugging me as it seemed low.
$3.1mm could be a share MLE depending on Bullock (leaves $6.4mm). Seems a hair low, but better than TP-MLE if those were the offers he was getting.
Best route for Dallas to add talent is bringing someone into the TPE or do a trade matched deal (or both).

Bullock signed for the full MLE. Brown has to be the BAE.

Looks like the full MLE to me. Which means the Brown deal probably is the BAE. I think they can also both fit into capspace if they prefer to use the rMLE instead of the TPE, but holding onto the larger TPE probably makes more sense.
Trade time.
