MAVS NEWS:
The most they can offer is the full MLE, right? I doubt they'd go that high, so what are we talking? Does 3 for $15 get it done?

Edit: Just read a note that he turned down $7 million to play in college, so they'd probably need to go 10MM per year or higher to lure him over here.

Yeah dude...everyone might need to brace themselves for what this contractual offer could be.

What are the contractual details in place with his current team? THAT's the number I'll wager Dallas has to beat.

AI, for what that's worth, estimates he's making $2-$2.5MM per year after taxes, so $3.5MM-$4MM in NBA terms.

Thanks. I find that to be more informative than what he might have been offered to play for a college team. There's such a cultural difference involved here, who knows whether he had any interest in going to college or mixing with 18 year olds.

If the reports are true, I would assume Dallas thinks he can play real NBA minutes.  You would not include him in a trade and try to bring him over here if you thought otherwise.    Looking at some highlights and his build, I think he would slated a backup to Flagg at SF.    If true, that means Marshall and Thompson probably aren't back.  I don't think Tarik's build is best as  2 guard.   He is pretty thick and is reported to be 6'7 with longish arms.    Of course, maybe this is not true and he isn't good enough.

He's basically a Klay Thompson clone, so yes SF.

Isn’t there a limit on how much an NBA team can spend on a Euro league buyout?

It is - so if the release clause is higher the player has to pay the difference himself.

That means you pay it indirectly by giving him a higher salary.

I hope so. Not something I wouldn't have wanted as a use of even part of the MLE when the summer started, but after watching him run around the court like a madman with defenders desperate to deny him the ball, only to watch the inevitable quick draining of a shot from like 5 feet behind the line less than a second after he catches the ball...yeah, I'm drinking the kool aid on this guy a bit.

That would be great. Roster's getting a little tight, tho.

Source close to the talks tells @TheSteinLine regarding Spanish guard Sergio DeLarrea coming directly to the NBA next season: "That is the plan."

DeLarrea plays for the Mavericks' summer league team in Las Vegas next week after helping Valencia win the Spanish ACB crown last week.

I just can't even imagine there isn't a trade coming, at this point. I know it's counterintuitive to think that way as time goes by, but each and every domino that has fallen makes this seem more likely to me.

I don't want to trigger mvossman, but maybe Mathurin is done and it's just being kept under wraps until Monday.

I was able to find time to watch 1 ~3min clip this morning. He has a pure stroke for sure. He kind of leans back when he shoots. Not fadeaway lean back, I don’t know how to describe it. Not a knock or anything, just something I noticed.
