Per Locked On Mavs, Max averages 7 threes attempts per game. If he does that the next two games, he needs to make at least 6 out of 14 to finish the year over 40% from three. He is currently exactly at 40% for the season.
He is also 4th in the league at 90 percent from teh foul line. You need 125 ft to qualify. Max is at 123.

I'm convinced he's an asset as a shooter, no matter what, and his familiarity with the team, combined with the team's obvious need for much more shooting means he's likely to factor prominently in their near-future plans. I wish he was a more impactful defender, but maybe he can improve at that.

I agree, he should a better defender. He has some Josh Green Disease. He looks the part and tries hard but so far he has had little real impact. To be fair he hasn't played much with an elite rim defender. The defense as a whole has been pretty iffy with all the roster changes and injuries. I think when the team has better talent, I think Max's game will adapt well to it. For instance, I think his game is more adaptable with more talent than a guy like Marshall. Not saying either can't work, but I think with more talent on the floor, Max's game works much better.

Only one reason to play Flagg in the last game. Trying to break Wilt´s record. Cause Flagg plays that´s an automatic win against the Bulls.

I can´t believe Dariq Whitehead is still just 21years old. Offer him at least a 2-way contract and we are a step closer to the All-Duke Team.

First game I got to see in about two weeks. It was fun. Man, Wemby is so good. He had a spin move on Cisse and dunked it that was incredible. Most Bigs would have fallen out of bounds. He somehow kept his balance and had a whirling dunk. I know the game did not mean anything, but pretty cool for Wemby to play his 20 minutes and then keep on playing. He is special.
Our kid is pretty special too. He was awesome. Almost everything he got, he created. It will be fun if they can add to good creators to the floor next year with him. I am not sure what Cisse is, but he is something. Whether on a another team, on another two way or on the real roster next year. Nice find by whoever found him. He has plus size and athleticism and plays so hard. That is enough for teams to invest in him. Mavs did a real nice job with their two ways this year. The next game is a must lose. I give Kidd a lot of props how the team stunk, but he still gave Cooper (and others) real, meaningful minutes. Very few games where the game was just a stat accumulation feast. Bad habits are hard to break and I think Kidd deserves some praise for keeping the games pretty much normal. Now for the last game, AJ gets 48 minutes and tell him in advance he is going for Bam's record. (04-11-2026, 07:31 AM)Chicagojk Wrote: The next game is a must lose. Cooper has shown he is the best rookie this year but it seems to me all the dipshits supporting Kon are all about it being a team award not an individual award.

The GM search begins Monday. They want someone on board by mid-May.

I will be disappointed if there hasn’t even been informal conversations/vetting until now. Ideally, he would have been talking to applicants for months. Even if it was just a get to know session.
Presti is a nonstarter but I agree Connelly would seem to fit outside of this. Lindsey is #2 in Detroit so you could potentially talk to him during the playoffs. myers and Ujeri would seem like to A targets with this info.

Why do they have to be "dipshits"? They've both had great seasons. CF overall is the better player, especially on defense. But you can't discount what Kon has done, leading the NBA in 3pt makes and doing it as a rookie. It all depends on how the sports writers view the totality of each player's season. Team success may factor into the equation. What's ironic is his teammate, LaMelo Ball, is only 3 made 3-pointers behind Kon for the lead. Too bad they can't share it. J Kidd and Grant Hill will be the last to do it. https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask/total-3...on-leaders

Kon is great in his role, moves around a ton on offense, rebounds and facilitates pretty good, is an OK defender. Cooper is just on a terrible team so he’s gonna have the better counting numbers. Here’s an interesting thought, if Harper was in a situation like Cooper how would his numbers look? 20 and 8 assists? Gonna be interesting to see who gets the award but I can’t fault someone for voting for Kon as he’s played a big role in charlottes turnaround.

I have no idea what I think of Kidd. I go back and forth and tend to think he will be the wrong coach as this team rounds back into contention (hopefully that happens in the future). Although how he handled Flagg this year deserves major props. From game one to now, his ability to handle the ball is like night and day. It is one of the reasons I am not tied to a "point guard" with our first pick. I think we need a guy who can create and spread the floor. Point guard skills will help but I really think we are looking at a lineup where we have three creators on the floor. Not just relying on one point guard. So having a guy who can play off the ball is going to be very important because Flagg is going to have the ball a ton moving forward.
