While basketball is not football, one of the things early in the year that I have thought is how exhausting these games are.    They just seem so fast and sprinting all the time.   Plus they are physical.   My thoughts after the game is I don't know how players can play 78 more games like that plus playoffs.    Therefore, I am not surprised about the injuries.   If feels like you need to have deep, capable teams that can withstand these injuries during the regular season.   I see some good teams and think they have a real tough run ahead because in time they won't be able to overcome injuries.

It may be worse moving forward if most teams are not tanking.  Last year, you know you had a 33% chance you had a win if you just had your C game.    Now even the dregs of the league are going hard.

Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton has sustained a left hamstring strain and will miss time, sources tell ESPN. Pacers doctors and Haliburton are now gathering a clear timeline.

You hit the nail on the head. The NBA has become super crazy fast and physical. Injuries will occur more and more often. Which is why anyone complaining about Kyrie missing games should get their head checked. Its a battle of attrition before the playoffs begin.

Indiana's Tyrese Haliburton will miss at least two weeks with the left hamstring strain.

Steph Curry continues to put himself in the greatness category. During the Warriors’ 119-114 victory against the host Timberwolves on Wednesday night, Curry put himself into the same scoring category as LeBron James. Curry tied James at 15 games for 40-point game performances past the age of 35 years old.

Warriors rookie Yaxel Lendeborg is stuffing the stat sheet early in his NBA career, joining elite company in the process. With 26 points and eight rebounds in Wednesday's win over the Minnesota Timberwolves, Lendeborg joins Victor Wembanyama as the only rookies since 1993 to tally 100 or more points and 40 or more rebounds in their first five career games, per SportRadar.

Wizards PR: Wizards guard/forward AJ Dybantsa finished his NBA debut with a team-high 19 points on 8-for-12 shooting, plus two assists and two rebounds in 27 minutes. It's the most points by a Wizards rookie in a debut since Tom Gugliotta (20) on 11/2/92 at Charlotte, and it ties for the fourth-most points by a Wizards rookie in a debut in team history.

Has anyone seen Kidd on ESPN yet?  Has he shown any personality?  Is he goo?

It will be interesting to see if he gets more chances to coach.   The Knicks last year wanted him and supposedly a few others were sniffing around.   If Dallas looks like a competent team this year, I wonder if teams will shy away from Kidd.    It needs to be the right team.   He has a history of trying to gain power within an organization, so I think most GM's may not think too fondly of that.    He seems to mess things up internally despite being pretty bland to the media.    Also, there are still a lot of unanswered questions with his involvement with the Luka trade.   I think he was really frustrated with Luka and was at least open to moving him in the right deal. It may have been much more too.

He is a coach who has a WCF run and a finals run over a 5 year timeline.  He is also one of the best point guards of all time.   You would think he would have options moving forward, but there is a lot of stuff there too that complicates things.

I'd put money on Kidd getting another opportunity or three to coach again. Mike Brown broke through and he was written off countless times.

Yes, he is goo.

I haven't seen his television commentary though. I can't imagine it being witty or interesting.

This is a completly different Mavericks world we live in now. New players, new coach, new GM, partially new owner. All of those things feel like upgrades. The team is running a different more exciting brand of basketball... and you're right that the new coach on camera sort of makes Kidd look like unexciting... goo.
