Re: Anthony Davis: The adductor muscles are more commonly known as the groin. A multi-week absence suggests a more moderate strain. Worth noting AD has a history of low-grade left adductor strains dating back to his time in New Orleans. He has also been nursing an abdominal strain that could be connected to this issue. According to @TheSteinLine
Dallas is still exploring treatment options.

Sent this out days before the trade. With surgery being discussed as a possible option, it’s seems more and more likely AD has a core muscle injury (CMI). Surgery comes with a high success rate but would likely end his season.

I already had a bad feeling if this team was going to win easy (blowouts or play a C level game for 3.5 quarters and then win in the last 6 minutes). It seems like their one way to win was to just smother teams. That is a lot to ask in todays NBA. Looking at the schedule, I don't see any easy games. Especially with one of our two best players out and your 3-4th best player (Lively). PJ twisted his ankle and who know how much Kyrie can take. They have some home games but it feels like a bad stretch is coming. Plus, Gafford is your one big man right now. Kelly isn't an NBA player and who else is left to play the 5? I am sure they will play hard on most nights, but there just isn't much there.

It is probably the best direction then. Get him healthy. I would like a full review if putting him out there so early was the smart medical move.

Not just putting him on the floor, but with no minutes restrictions and 30 minutes in three quarters. The level of incompetence with this organization is mind numbing.

I know I've never completely freed myself of the suspicion that there are some extremely odd things about this mission

Did he pass his physical? Or was Luka’s behavior so detrimental to the culture that they “waived” AD’s physical?

AD was already injured when the trade was made so the team was certainly aware of his injury.
But this is a new injury. AD living up to his nickname Day-to-Day already.

I’m sorry, Dave, but I’m afraid I can’t do that.

This is going to be really bad, isn't it. I became a real mavs fan a little before the Mavs drafted Kidd and then became a full fledged one when Kidd was drafted. It is sad that this could make the Kidd trade look like a good trade. Man, it is depressing.

In response to Grant Afseth, one of my new favorite beat reporters for the Mavs the last 2 years, calling out Timmy on falsely reporting supposed death threats against Nico, Tim Macmahon has called Grant Afseth a “wannabe journalist” in his latest podcast.

Not sure I've seen this discussed but according to Stein, I think we should be getting some news today re AD's injury. Folks seem to be thinking "up to a month" but I'm guessing it could be longer if he requires surgery. I can't think of a worse outcome tbh.... actually it cuold get much worse for Nico if Luka looks dominant in his return. This could be a really really really bad day for the Mavs.
