AROUND the NBA: DET Fires Monty Williams| JJ Redick Might Go To Pistons?

George Karl is such a hater. No wonder nobody likes him.

He is a hater, but he's not completely wrong here. I think Reddick does have the potential to be a good coach. But Nash and Kidd, who were both substantially better than Reddick when it comes to on-court IQ, stand as recent examples that leap-frogging into the head coach position is an incredibly risky proposition. A couple of years seasoning as an assistant coach have done wonders for Kidd, and I suspect the same would be true if Nash wanted to give coaching another try.

The Lakers orchestrating the timing to steal headlines during the Finals is such a Lakers move.

The Lakers like the Cowboys, are always going to be topics of discussion on sports shows like ESPN, podcasts, and others. It's just how it is. If they can lure Hurley away from UConn, that is a major coup for them. They talk about the Cowboys every freakin day, and they've done nothing to improve the team. It's nuts...

I thought he would stay at UConn and keep enjoying his dynasty, but no way is he staying with 100 million on the table...lol.

This feels like Rick Pitino and the Celtics type of move.

No chance a coach was offered a hundred million

Are you serious? Players get max deals at 100-200 million or more. Erik Spoelstra just signed for 8/120 million, and Pop makes 5/80 million. Monty Williams 8/80, And with the new TV deal coming, they all will probably make more. You need to do some research before making blanket statements.

Let´s hope he takes it. It´s downright embarrassing that students suffer from exorbitant student loans in America, so colleges can pay some glorified gym teacher millions of dollars, while the players that bring in the actual money, get peanuts at best. How come barely any of these guys successfully transition to the NBA. They are playing an amateur game.

I have been watching a good amount of UCONN highlights the past few days. There offense is such a beauty to watch. I love when basketball is played that way. Hurley is from basketball royalty. We will see how the UCONN prospects in the draft do next season. While they are all good players, it feels like they are more a whole is better than the parts type of team. A lot of credit goes to Hurley for his development of players and putting them in the right spots.

Hurley to LAL is interesting. I guess there is no more visible franchise in the league. Tricky situation. With one of the greatest players near the end. They may also have limited assets moving forward. It is a place players want to play. As good as Hurley is, I am not sure his college aura is going to work long time in the pros. I think it would be a really good hire though. We will see if it works out though. If he goes to the NBA and fails, he will have no shortage of opportunities in college.

Hurley is a great coach.

Not sure about the Lakers situation though with Lebron in his twilight years. Anthony Davis and Austin Reaves isn’t enticing enough to commit to long term.

Incorrect. Woj says he's supposed to make his decision on Monday. I guess he'll sleep on it, lol.
