Game 39: Dallas Mavericks (14-24) vs. Chicago Bulls (17-20) | 7:00pm CST

I didn't watch the game, tbh. Just got home. I guess I was looking at his question from sort of a "the season up til now" perspective. You're saying this game officially announced the beginning of the tank?

Would have won tonight if this was one of the 4-5 games that AD played in between injuries  Big Grin

Klay Thompson -19 in 19 minutes, 10/2/1 shooting 40/33/0.
Jaden Hardy +3 in 12 minutes, 14/1/0 shooting 65/57/0.

Seriously you are trying to trade both guys (I assume), you need to switch their rotational minutes around. You let Hardy try to put up his stats in the meaningful minutes of games to prove the concept of him being a legit 3 pt flamethrower. And you play Klay in the more non competitive minutes to get his shooting percentage up, to convince people he´s not completely washed. Or you don´t play him at all, so people forget about current Klay and talk themselves into him again. You don´t roll him out there against higher end opposition rotations to prove that he´s the new Wes Matthews.

I am not sure the tank was on. I think they did want to get a good look at two of their g league players. But man, look at the roster. The starting five have played together quite a bit this year. They mostly stunk today but they tried to play them together for stretches. It quickly goes off the rails when you bring the subs in. You are just hoping for a miracle they stay within fighting distance. It literally a greatest hits of some Nico doozies thrown out there. Not only are our bench players abysmal, but they probably played very little together. It showed. Maybe they could have mixed the starters and subs better, but I think they made the right choice playing the starters together. Everyone was bad though.

They quit tonight. They know there’s nothing to play for. Most of them aren’t even free agents playing for their next contract. Even bums like Caleb Martin, Hardy, DLo are signed for next year.

I wouldn't say the Mavs intentionally tried to lose. But playing Martin+Hardy+DLo extended minutes while the game was in reach certainly didn't help the case that they were trying to win either.

It's hard guys, we are in January... But our season is ended.

We will lose almost all games from now.

Lets hope so. A 0-10 run would be a strong start. If we manage to loose to Utah twice in the upcoming games we should sit at #6 in mid january.

Then let the wheels come off entirely and start sitting guys left and right.

The Wizards wont even play Trae Young this season. It’s insane but that’s the way the NBA works.

What is Kyle Collinsworth up to these days? He played a HUGE role in getting us Luka. Dude should have his jersey retired in the AAC.

I think they have been tanking since the Warriors game. The Kings are 3-17 over their last 20 games. Over their last eight games, the Kings have lost every game by margins between 14 and 41 points except for the Mavs games. Kings were a buzzerbeater from Brandon Mejri away from going 2-0 against the Mavs. That does not happen, if you are not trying to lose, cause the Kings are tanking hardcore right now.

Some teams are simply too bad but i see Mavs can go #4/#5 in Tankathon easy.

Gafford, Klay and maybe Naji will be traded at the TDL for picks and expires.
