My guess with the Caleb Martin rumor is that a Lakers fan thirsty for Luka Mav teammates apparently didn't realize that Luka never played with Martin before composing a fake trade proposal.

I wondered if the Knicks held his dad's job hostage for JB to take a reduced salary extension. Maybe that WAS Rick's job to get get JB to re-sign at a team-friendly amount and keep roster flexibility.

The Sixers will need to waive a player on a non-guaranteed salary before signing James. Although they have an open roster spot, signing James would put them above the $209 million first apron hard cap. The most straightforward path is waiving either Dalen Terry, who is non-guaranteed, or Jabari Walker, who has a $250,000 partial guarantee. They could also acquire Bronny James with one of their trade exceptions, but they would need to waive the other of Terry and Walker to create the apron space for him.

Good point. LeBron searches for things to accomplish that separates him from other all-time greats. He's become a vagabond, chasing titles however you look at it.
