If you force Oubre (7.4 3pt attempts at 30.8%) to fashion his shot selection after DeRozen (1.4 3pt attempts at 27%), Without the 3pters, Oubre is 5.2 for 10.4, 50% fg%. Lower his 3pt attempts to DeRozen's 7% 3pt selection, or 1.3 3pt attempts. Using the remaining 6.1 attempts for 2pters, his fg% would be 49% with slightly more points, 20.6. 20.6pts, 5.1rbs, 1.6stls on 49%fg. I'll take it. Jalen McDaniels is an interesting backup wing. I'll take Rozier over THJ any day. He is an ideal 6th man for this team. Last year his jumpshots were 68% assisted which I use as a measure to play off the ball. Also a low 25.9 usage rate this year. Rozier would excel in Kidd's defensive scheme. (01-19-2023, 01:28 PM)Kammrath Wrote: https://twitter.com/TheNBACentral/status...3237629954 Would a frontcourt of Wiseman/Wood work? Heck no to that Bobby Marks deal with Charlotte. Not giving a 1st for non-difference makers. Rozier is better than Bertans but his contract goes a year or two longer? Oubre is not a winning player. McDaniel is a FA.
If Anunoby costs two young players and a pick I'd sell out just about anything on the roster to put an offer together. Is Hardy and the choice of Green or Reddish plus a Dallas 1st enough? Can Dallas get a 1st for Wood or DFS?... or work with NY to free up a future pick?
Powell + Reddish + Hardy + Dal 1st --> TOR Bullock --> NYK Anunoby --> DAL

The key though is SD has to be traded then and you have to go ALL IN right away. Siakam's clock is ticking. The problem is going all in one you spent everything to get Siakam.

The problem with is, if true, so would every contender in the league. Green / Hardy doesnt come close to some of the 2 young player packages other teams can come up with. I'm going with Age 22 and younger for the baseline. Warriors can offer players such as Wiseman, Kuminga, Moody, Baldwin Memphis- Trey Murphy, Dyson Daniels, Hayes, Lewis Denver - Bones Hyland, Braun, Nnaji. Portland - Little / Sharpe Knicks- Grimes , Barrett, Quickley (23) , Toppin (24) OKC is 1.5 games behind us. If and when they decide to get serious, they can pretty much get anyone they want. And thats without touching SGA or Chet.

the problem with Anunoby aside from the price...are the bidders...Grizzlies/NOP/Pacers/Knicks etc any of those teams has 1 best and most prospects 2 best and most picks... It would be great to get a legitimate 2 but I don't see it.. I think that with 2 more guys like Turner/Grant/Bojan/Collins/Randle/Brooks etc (in the price range (1/2 maximum FRP) that I think, we can assume) Luka would make us champions... Given his contract situation my first target would be Turner..if we could get him to
Wood/Bullock.. Wood/Ntilikina to HEAT Bullock/Dedmond/Jovic/Mavs28 to PACERS Oladipo/Turner to MAVS If this works... I wouldn't mind sending Tim+FRP for Bojan... Turner/Powell/Mcgee DFS/Maxi/Bertans Bojan/Green/Pinson Oladipo/Hardy Luka/SD

You object to the point I made, but it's still front and center -- Cuban is not going to be interested in the least. You raise his payroll this season by 4.5M (and tax by an additional 15M) and if you don't know that's a deal-killer, you haven't been paying attention.

We often overlook the fact that for role players, there can be a big difference in results between "getting shots" and "getting my shots." I've often wondered if there's some of that issue that's been injected into this year's team. Wood is new and gets plenty of shots, and THJ wasn't in the mix either last season when the team was raining 3s on opponents. It sure seems possible that they are taking shots on the floor that players like Bullock sorta need. With Mavs giving a pick as part of the deal? No way. If you erase the pick and do the rest? I'm still very hesitant. Oubre is more "name" than value. No defense. Injured. Contract expires in June so he's just a rental, but he's injured for another month or so, so little rental value available either. McDaniel is okay as a project, but he's neither a great shooter nor a great defender nor a great rebounder, so it's a gamble on what he might become. He's also a rental, and will be UFA in the summer. So for me it comes down to that giant Rozier contract, that you're hoping to justify somehow. If you think you will like McDaniel AND expect you can resign him for a number you like, there's likely no money saved, since you've swapped THJ/DB for Rozier (and maybe McD) at about the same total salary. Can Rozier somehow be that 3rd guard the Mavs are missing -- if so, then the bad money isn't too much to swallow. If not, then I'd steer way clear. And that's without a pick, of course.

Most of what’s to like is getting off Bertans contract, but that is not worth a first. I do like my revised deal where they drop Oubre and add Hayward and PJ Wash then we add Bullock and McGee and change the pick to 28. Hayward would be a player to help us finish out the year and see how far we can go, then use as an expiring in the offseason to get the guy we like. I’ve been so adamant about getting PJ cause I like his defense and shot blocking next to Wood on top of having 3 pt range. I’m not a huge fan of Rozier’s game, but he is a ball handler and if he can get back to being at least not a negative defender, he would be the better choice to start next to Luka, IMO.

Something structured around:
Rozier, Oubre Jr, Washington for THJ, DFS, McGee Point - Luka, Rozier Guard - Green, Dinwiddie Forward - Oubre, Bullock Forward - Washington, Maxi Center - Wood, Powell

Hayward is not a prize in any way, except in theory. He is always hurt. That's not much hyperbole - right now he's sidelined by his THIRD different multi-week injury of the season. And with all the injuries, when he plays, he mostly sux as a player now, so there's that as well. The idea that he represents some sort of value in the summer is only true to the degree that you need useless, expiring filler for a trade. Otherwise, no one will want to take him off your hands for the privilege of paying him $31M to be injured and then spare it up. PJ? IMO okayish, maybe, not all that excited by him. Wouldn't do a trade with the idea that he's the main prize. He's a bit undersized 4/5, so not that good as a rebounder or defender, and not that efficient as a scorer to make up for the lack of size. The fact he's going to demand a big raise soon is also not desirable. I'd never want to see the Mavs include a pick to get players like the above to Dallas. It may sound like I'm trashing everyone on CHA, but there's a reason the team is bad. Besides Ball, not much to like.

They really don't need the cap that much. Unless a pick is involved, CHA isn't interested in a Rozier/THJ swap. While DFS has positive value, CHA isn't going to need his services, a 3rd team has to be involved.
We just paid a whole lot of money to a guy that went 9-29 (31%) on FG and 3-20 (15%) 3-pt% in both our win or go home elimination games last couple of playoffs. SMH
Man, I'd love to get a handle on any of the Raptors' players. Obviously Siakam and Anunoby are studs, but also VanVleet could take THJ's volume 3-pt shooting role, being a better defender and playmaker, which would give us our 3rd ballhandler (better than JB IMO). Just gotta find a way to ship THJ out of here. Trent Jr could flourish and become the wing we need. Shoots the ball and defends at a good level.
Wood/THJ/Bullock/Hardy/'25 DAL 1st (top 4 protected) for FVV/Trent/Young ? Yes, both are FA, high risk but if we could re-sign them at 110/4 (FVV) and 90/4 (Trent) We have a very good locked core of: FVV/Dinwiddie Trent Doncic/Green DFS X/Kleber While only spending a pick, almost same team that made to WCF, but FVV instead of JB and Trent instead of Bullock. Probably needs a Powell/Young/'27 DAL 1st to grab X (defensive anchor/rebounder) to contend.
