Okay I am back on the Gobert hate train. Great regular season player. Won't get the Jazz deep in the playoffs. Embiid destroyed him the other day. Fellow all-stars picked him last on their team.
I am going to watch the Jazz very closely these playoffs. I want to see if top 10 player Gobert can help them get to at least the WCF.

Well it IS an NBA forum. Don't read it if you aren't interested.

Nah we need to keep it alive and well so that Kamm can take credit when the Jazz knock out the Lakers this year.

Damn that’d be awesome. I like to see LeBron lose almost as much as I like to see us win.

Ya know, I still think Rudy is overpaid. But it's undeniable how important he is to the Jazz. It's not like they had a choice in paying him if they wanted to remain elite and there isn't a better defensive player in the league.
Rudy is crazy.

I fell down like a 3 hour rabbit hole of videos once about Gobert, demonstrating how he is able to trick ball-handlers into thinking that he's going to take a passing lane away by taking just one fake step. I think casual fans just see him as a big, tall dude, and while his game wouldn't be as imposing in anyone else's body, the dude is SMART and SKILLED.
Porzingis has more than enough length to affect the game like Gobert does, but he just doesn't have the mental game down like Gobert does. He's always reacting, and usually late. Gobert motivates players to do what he wants them to do.
I should never have doubted him. Put Gobert with Luka and prosper...if only.

You can't put this on a single guy. Clippers five out is basically removing the effect of help defense where Gobert excells. If he helps Clipps have an open three pointer. If he is with a shooter at three point line, Kawhi and George have a relatively clean path to the rim.
The answer is actually on the other side, imho. You have to force them to play Zubac. KP couldn't do it and Gobert can't. Rules are not really in favour of big guys pushing around smaller ones. Mavs tried with Bobi but he is not big enough threat downlow, way too slow. Embiid would certainly destroy their small ball. Perhaps Jokic.

@"omahen" if Gobert is a top 10 player in the NBA then he is capable of carrying a good NBA team to the Finals. That is the bold proclamation by Kamm that ignited this whole thread. It's put up or shut up time. Jazz are 6 wins away from getting there, lets see Rudy get it done.

I expect LAC to win because Kawhi is better than Gobert and PG is better than Donovan IMO.

If I recall you weren't very high on PG or Donovan so that should be a wash.
