Special shout out to KP for his grit and grind last night. It’s easy to put in effort on nights where the shots are falling, but a night when it’s not can be a challenge. He stepped up and didn’t let it phase him that Zubac got some early put backs and offensive boards. He maintained constant effort throughout the game. He’s challenging more shots. Moving without the ball on offense. Looking more like the player of last year. Great job
Those Iwundu minutes were important as well. Kawhi was hounded for all 10 of those minutes. It can’t be easy to get such irregular minutes like he does, yet he showed up and played with defensive intensity. He’s a good example of how much length and effort matter against the top players. Making Kawhi work harder and tiring him out was a winning strategy
We are better than the clippers. We match up well against the nuggets. Nobody is scared of the spurs. Looking forward to testing our mettle against the blazers
As always it’s a grind in the West. The playoff teams are pretty much the same as last year. Lots of basketball will have been played over a calendar year once we get to June. Several of these teams like LAC are older. Who knows if some of these guys will hit a wall or get injured over the next few months. We just need to keep at it and keep working on this team defense. Anything can happen as a top 6 seed in a strange year. Since the season started we have been on a roll(since early February post covid). Let’s go mavs!
