I think this is a valid point. 15 years ago the league had a few well run teams (including the Mavs) and a big number of teams that had no clue. International scouting, medical staff, game/data analysts. Most teams improved a lot in the mentioned aspects. Mavs had an advantage in the 00s but in todays league they are just one of many teams.
