Not really true. The NBA isn't just looking for stat stuffing in the G League. Here are some notable guys and their G League days....
Siakam played 5 G-League games and averaged 18 pts, 8 rbds.
Gobert played 8 games and averaged 14 pts, 11 rbds.
Middleton played 3 games and averaged 11 pts, 8 rbds, while shooting 14% from three.
Duncan Robinson played 33 games and averaged 21 pts, 4 rbds.
Clint Capela played 38 games and averaged 16 pts, 10 rbds.
Mostly all solid numbers but I wouldn't call them "other-worldly." I think looking at G League stats can be REALLY misleading, but it is important for guys to be at least somewhat successful in that real game context.
