For the season, Mavs shot 0 three pointers with opponent close (0-2 feet). Last in league. 3 pointers where defender is within 2-4 feet represent 4,3 % of all of their shots - middle of the pack in the league. 18,3 % of all Mavs shots are open three pointers, with defender 4-6 feet away - 4th in league. 19,9 % of three pointers are wide open - middle of the pack. Utah shoots a bit more tightly defended, less open and more wide open shots. The difference is in accuracy:
Tight: Dal: 28 %, Uta: 33 %
Open: Dal: 35 %, Uta: 37 %
Wide open: Dal: 36 %, Uta: 42 %
Utah shoots 42 threes per game (most in league), Dallas 37 (8th in league). Ball movement is not a problem, accuracy is. Mavs can generate tons of open looks, they are just not converting them very well.
