Those are only shots that the ELITE 3-pt shooters can make at a decent percentage (ex: Steph Curry, Lillard, Booker, etc.) and Luka will never be in that class of shooters because that's not the type of player he is.With Bubble Luka this is probably still a win. Luka right now is somewhere between rookie and sophomore Luka in terms of shape. Brunson in comparison looks like in the best shape of his life. Being more lean/bulkier/muscular.
You don't really develop that shot to where it becomes a good weapon. Harden has tried and it doesn't work consistently.
Since he's still only 21 and taking those bad shots, you just have to hope he will eventually learn and hope that the coaching staff actually coaches him up. In 5 years, if he's in his prime and still chucking those up, then that will be a huge problem!
Luka out of shape = more 3's in crunch time. Because chucking is easier than driving relentlessly to the rim. Luka picked the worst offseason to come in out of shape, with KP being out to start the season. You just cant play your way into shape in 3 preseason games, this will likely take 10-20 games, if not way more ...
And not too mention that his jumper will prolly suffer being out of shape, if his legs leave him late in games.
