For instance, team x winds up with the 8th pick, Dallas winds up at 16, and OKC is 30. OKC would get the 8th pick in this scenario right?
It would be pretty straightforward. OKC gets the better of their pick and DAL.
Say the Mavs did another swap that year. MIA for example. Then MIA would get the the worst of OKC/DAL if it was a better pick than their own. Otherwise, the swap isn’t executed.
OKC gets best of Own/DAL
MIA gets best of Own/pick DAL ended up with.
DAL gets the worst of the bunch.
Same way in reverse.
OKC gets best of Own/DAL
DAL gets best of the pick they ended up with from above/MIA
MIA gets the worst of the bunch.
