Note how relatively dead and inactive the board has been for the past week, and that’s with the logjam clearing of LeBron making his retirement home decision. That’s because it was never Queen Jane holding the league hostage, but rather that ultra-incompetent investigative firm looking into Kawhi/Balmer/trees. The NBA is screwing over the other 29 teams by not making the investigators wrap it up and divulge their findings right now. I’m telling you, without something to accelerate the process exponentially, the earliest it will be done is mid-September, and perhaps later. Does the NBA really want to go into training camp with several of its RFAs still unsigned? Please stop the clown show, Silver.

Silver doesn't have any GOOD way (one that would be satisfying to you and me, especially) to fast track the investigation and results. 

Would you happy if he announced, "It's taking too long, so never mind"? Yeah, I didnt think so. Me neither. 

Per the CBA and owner rules, the investigators don't get to make the final decision. They find facts and recommend. But what they say has to be solid and hold up to scrutiny -- before any penalty is imposed, there is a hearing, and then the hearing can be appealed. 

So until they have found SOLID proof of something with evidence that will hold up when challenged, they can't just stop.
