What's your opinion on this "reported" (lol) interest in Martin by the Lakers. It seems so far-fetched to me I couldn't even bring myself to acknowledge it. I mean, I can see them wanting Martin more than Vanderbilt, but I don't think the Mavericks would like that exchange, and the idea of finding a third team to take Vanderbilt seems silly to me. The Lakers can't afford to pay the draft capital that would require, and even if they could, why would they give that up for Martin? Hopefully, Dallas isn't interested in paying the draft capital price.

I could see the Lakers angle if they feel Martin is a more useful (even if not terribly useful) piece as they'd save $6.3M over two years.  I don't see the Mavs having any interest because of that and the glut of Fs/PFs on the roster.  Maybe you could get a 3rd team to take Vanderbilt and the Lakers pay something and the Mavs pay something in a salary dump that ends up being less expensive than dumping Martin's contract by yourself.
