I think a lot of the Naji hate comes down to two factors:  his three point shooting as you mentioned and the analytics of him and Flagg sharing the court being a net negative.

You're absolutely right. That's where it all comes from, and it's 100% about his on court role. 

Maybe you'll end up being right that those things are misleading, and your last sentiment about him wanting to be here isn't lost on me at all. He's a very likable dude, and it's not like he's a bad player. But, for me, those analytics are a confirmation of the eye test, not contrary to it.
