Your obsession with position labels is what I think the issue is. If Flagg is one of the front court players and all you care about is putting a 3PT shooter next to him in the “front court” why are the above not viable options? Yes, Klay is the most proven, consistent, best of the bunch. But all the others are, by your own standards, “capable 35% 3PT shooters” — and I’d argue all but Tarik are simply better overall offensive players than Klay.
I don’t have an obsession with position labels. They are simply an easier way of describing a role.
Guys who shoot 35% on moderate volume should be your second worst shooter on the floor at most. If you have Flagg and a center on the court you want everyone else shooting better than that ideally.
I think folks tend to undervalue the impact of a high volume shooter. Those guys might be “better” offensive players than Klay but I’m not sure they have a better offensive impact on the court.
