As for Mathurin being better at everything else, Scoot is a better 3 point shooter (better percentage and more volume) and a better defender in addition to being a better playmaker while being 2 years younger.
I have no idea whether Henderson can take the next step if given a no-strings-attached, 20-minutes per chance to run the team. But, I'm confident Schmitz would have an opinion about that, and if he was into it, that's exactly the kind of upside risk they need to take and hit on to pull themselves into relevancy again.
It could be that Henderson just isn't up to it, but it could also be that we haven't learned the PJ Washington lesson, still. Sometimes, it's the circumstances these guys have been stuck in that are holding them back. Sometimes, getting them to the right place in the right role is all that's needed.
