"It’s unclear what a “significant” offer would entail. The Mavericks could try to sign Biberovic using the second-round exception, which would give him guaranteed money, or they could dip into their mid-level exception or bi-annual exception to present a more lucrative offer.
According to Marc Stein of The Stein Line (Twitter link), the Mavs have begun talking to Biberovic’s agents about the possibility of the 25-year-old coming stateside next season. Sources tell Stein that Biberovic’s contract with Fenerbahce features a $2MM buyout — Dallas can only cover $900K of that total, Stein notes, and Biberovic would be responsible for the rest."
