According to reports, the only interested parties now for Simons is GSW and Miami - neither of which can out-bid Dallas. If that's the case, there's no big hurry to sign him and certainly no reason to overpay.

The reason to overpay is that we are a worse destination than GS or Miami right now. At the end of the day Sexton got nine, Grimes got 15, Powell got 22, White got 23. So 15 for Simons is still reasonable and probably enough to lure him away from GS or Miami.
