I agree with your second paragraph to an extent. I’m not desperate to dump anyone, including Gafford. On the other hand, some of them are in the way of younger players making progress, and I also don’t think that time is going to make better deals magically appear. What I am a little desperate to do is to freaking get on with things and stop living in this fantasy that this is still the team that went to the finals. Those support players are never going to look as good here as they did that year. That ship sailed with the Luka trade.
What I think you’re saying in general (don’t want to misrepresent you) is that Gaff and PJ’s trade value is going to go down the longer teams see them play without Luka. I would argue that their value could go up a bit over team as the money remaining on their contracts decreases.
